Ikea's Famous Swedish Meatballs! 🇸🇪
The Ikea branch in the Philippines is so big that we can’t explore the whole building in one day.😅 We had a chill day to get kitchen tools and house gadgets, and so, I had a mental list... but it is so hard not to get some items out of what was planned.
It was tempting to get a few scented candles and organizer boxes. 😆 As we were checking out, I wanted to eat at the Swedish Restaurant known for its famous Swedish meatballs and other Swedish food.
This is where the queue starts. We had to grab the food cart and tray as this is where the food will be served. Not a lot of people today, so lucky! 😁 Perhaps because of the heavy rain that we were experiencing, that is why people prefer to be indoors. 🌧
Food choices were flashed on the screens so while waiting for our turn, we made ourselves busy by choosing our food and drinks.
On the left side, were choices of sliced cakes. 🍰✨
We got the blueberry cheesecake and carrot cake. My friend and I were arguing if we would get a slice of apple cake, and she said "no" just because she felt that I was just hyped at the moment. Haha😆
Now it’s our turn to get those meatballs. 😋 Ahhh~ the smell of the freshly cooked meatballs just lingered. We got two plates of 16-piece meatballs with mashed potato, green, peas, and jam. In addition, we got cheesy fries, two fried siopao, and a vegetable medallion. 🥰
For the drinks, we got the Nordic drinks of sparkling pear and lemon.
Ikea has a self-service approach yet is very organized. I could get as much as we wanted in the dispenser same as the condiments.
The communal tables were filled with families, couples, and groups of friends chatting and enjoying their Swedish food. Between our delightful munching, we talked about our favorites in the showroom area. Mine was those Nordic designs of kitchen and bedroom because of how it looked so clean and seamless.
Now, time to rate the food!😋
Swedish Meatballs
This is Ikea’s famous classic dish! A perfectly rounded meatball in golden brown color. It’s appetizing in looks especially when glazed with the sauce. A handful of green peas, mashed potato, and lingonberry jam. Tender and moist with hints of spices.
The taste reminded me of Jollibee’s burgersteak but with more elevated flavors. It’s rich and savory, with balanced seasonings. It is a comforting food so I will give it 4.5/5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Blueberry cheesecake
A creamy and smooth cheesecake topped with blueberry glaze. The tanginess from the blueberry is a nice complement to the creaminess.
The consistency was so velvety it melts in your mouth. Served chilled which enhances the flavors. Nothing special but they made it quality cheesecakes.
4.8/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Carrot cake
Their version of carrot cake is too sweet. 😅 The cake has real bits of shredded carrots with flavors of nutmeg and cinnamon. I will give it three stars because of too much sweetness. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cheesy fries
Nothing mind-blowing. Just a regular fries with cheese sauce and some toppings. I wish I had more of the sauce. I thought of dipping it in ketchup but it would ruin the cheesiness, haha.😆 Average. Normal. 2.5/5 ⭐️⭐️
Choice of drinks
Non-alcoholic beverages were available for unlimited refill. I was choosing between sparkling lemon or sparkling pear, and I got the latter. It has a slight pear flavor, which is sweet and fruity. Not too much sugar in my taste, just the right balance of everything. I like the fizziness adding a refreshing sensation. I really enjoyed this drink so I got one more refill. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Self-service
Shopping and dinning-in were self-served. I had to take all the plates and glass in the racks provided. It was an easy-peasy task and I think it should be a practice for people to tidy up after eating.
The Swedish Restaurant was organized and easy to follow paths since it has signage making it an ease to navigate into different corners. Spacious and well-lit with a minimalistic design reflecting Ikea’s branding.
I recommend trying Ikea’s Swedish Restaurant if you are around Pasay City, Philippines. It is just near the Mall of Asia. I recommend planning as it is easy to get off track on your list, haha. Very cheap but quality food. I had an amazing time! 😊🍴

THE MEATBALLS!!!
Personally I like the sausage way more, but the meatballs are top tier too 😫 and the cheesecake! But I've tasted all the cakes there because their baked goods are also manufactured by the local starbucks bakery
I have to try the sausage! 😤 No wonder why the cakes are delish! Same as SB!
!PIZZA
you definitely should but you'd need 2-3 people to finish that roll 🤣 so worth it though.
And indeed, they have exactly the same base as the SB cakes too. But they were more generous when sending samples 🤣 they usually sent a whole cake, not just a slice like starbs does
and here i thought ikea only sells furniture. I only knew they have restaurants because of you and with affordable food prices too. Basing on the plating food looks like it's priced much higher than the given price hahaha classy and expensive vibe ~ love it.
I'm curious about the carrot cake, never tried it before.
Yeah, looks expensive but it's cheap since it's self-service. Carrot cake was too sweet for me, but nice that they added real bits of shredded carrot. 😊

Give me some blueberry cheesecake Ji!
Ahh~ 😁 You have to try Ate Lhes! So good 😋

Curious ako sa gastos sa foods palang, coz alam mo na, baka maligaw kami dyan, at least ready na ang pocket - kahit malabong mangyari. Charrrr hahaha. I remember halos lahat nang vlogger nag Ikea and nag share nang kanilang review jan. Thats why i'm curious too. Pero parang mas bet ko yong may mga cakes. They all look delicious huhu, I want!
It's cheap here compared to eating in high-end cafes but same quality since it is self-service. We were five in the group and spent around 1,500 pesos. I think it's fair for the quality of food. 😋

Ehhhh, that much? It's really cheap ah, for 5 people na pala, and the food is really good din so worth it talaga sya. Uwu
