Crochet cup cover

Recientemente mis compañeras de mi clase de yoga me solicitaron les enseñara a tejer en la técnica crochet, me comentaron que si podía preparar un curso en donde pudiesen aprender de manera fácil y sin presión alguna. Ellas quieren aprender de manera divertida, evitando la frustración.

Me llena de felicidad inmensa cuando las personas me dicen que quieren aprender a tejer, es que los beneficios que el tejer ofrece son innumerables, considero desde que surge el deseo de aprender a tejer, los beneficios comienzan a manifestarse.

Recently my classmates in my yoga class asked me to teach them how to crochet. They told me that I could prepare a course where they could learn easily and without any pressure. They want to learn in a fun way, avoiding frustration.

It fills me with immense happiness when people tell me that they want to learn to knit, the benefits that knitting offers are innumerable, I consider from the moment the desire to learn to knit arises, the benefits begin to manifest.

Una vez conocido el deseo de mis compañeras de tejido, me planteé buscar como primer proyecto algo bien sencillo, en donde pudieran aprender los puntos básicos de la técnica crochet y obtuviesen un resultado tangible. Para ello, me plantee enseñarles a tejer un cobertor para taza, el cual pudiesen hacer en cualquier color y cualquier tipo de hilos. Sin embargo, como son principiantes lo ideal es que tejan en un hilo grueso.

Hablando del grosor del hilo, me he tropezado patrones en donde la artista sugiere el hilo e inclusive la marca del hilo con el cual tejer el patrón que propone, muchas veces este tema del hilo, me limita , ya que en el país donde vivo no venden esos hilos con lo que la artista propone hacer la labor. Muchas veces no tejo el patrón y otras veces hago las conversiones que sean necesarias para tejer con el hilo que tengo y poder lograr trabajar con el patrón que deseo. Para evitar que mis futuras aprendices o cualquiera que lea los patrones que estoy proponiendo para estas clases, no puedan tejer a través del patrón, estaré indicando las medidas que va tener el resultado final. Es importante aclarar, cada labor queda mejor con un hilo determinado, más eso no es limitante para tejer en la amplia gama de hilos que existen.

Once I knew the desire of my knitting colleagues, I decided to look for something very simple as my first project, where they could learn the basic points of the crochet technique and obtain a tangible result. Speaking of the thickness of the thread, I have come across patterns where the artist suggests the thread and even the brand of thread with which to knit the pattern she proposes. Many times this thread issue limits me, since in the country where I live I do not They sell those threads with what the artist proposes to do the work. Many times I do not knit the pattern and other times I make the conversions that are necessary to knit with the yarn I have and be able to work with the pattern I want. To prevent my future apprentices or anyone who reads the patterns that I am proposing for these classes, from being unable to knit through the pattern, I will be indicating the measurements that the final result will have. It is important to clarify, each work looks better with a certain thread, but that is not a limitation for knitting in the wide range of threads that exist.

Para este cobertor, la idea es medir el alto de la taza y la circunferencia de la misma. Una vez obtenida esas medidas se tejerá un rectángulo que tenga esas dimensiones.

Lo primero que se hace es tejer una cadeneta con el alto y tejer las filas que sean necesarias hasta llegar a la dimensión de la circunferencia. Es importante destacar, como la taza tiene un asa, la medida de la circunferencia se le resta uno (1). Por ejemplo, si la circunferencia de la taza es de 26 cm, el cobertor medirá la diferencia de 26-1 que es igual a 25cm.

For this cover, the idea is to measure the height of the cup and its circumference. Once these measurements are obtained, a rectangle that has those dimensions will be knitted.

The first thing you do is knit a chain with the height and knit the rows that are necessary until you reach the circumference dimension. It is important to note, as the cup has a handle, one (1) is subtracted from the circumference measurement. For example, if the circumference of the cup is 26 cm, the cover will measure the difference of 26-1, which is equal to 25 cm.

Una vez completado el rectángulo con las medidas correspondientes, se tejen cadenetas en cada lado del rectángulo comenzando por un extremo y uniendo luego al otro extremo. Este procedimiento se realiza en ambos lados del rectángulo.

Estas cadenetas que se tejen en cada lado del rectángulo tendrán una medida en centímetros del alto del asa de la taza.

Una vez completada la labor, llega el momento emocionante de vestir la taza con este cobertor. Este es un proyecto muy sencillo, el cual aparte de aprender a tejer, permitirá poder hacer estos cobertores y obtener un benéfico económico con ellos, o también para regalar, o simplemente para disfrutar de un buen café o un buen té en una taza abrigadita.
