Amigurumi: Flirty Giraffe

El mundo del tejido tiene infinitas técnicas, quiero aprenderlas todas, inclusive las que no existen.

Les comento que desde que aprendí a tejer amigurrumis, mi visión del mundo y del tejido cambió, es que quiero tejer todo lo que veo relacionado con la naturaleza, es una experiencia muy especial, y busco siempre espacios para vivir tan especial experiencia.

I tell you that since I learned to knit amigurrumis, my vision of the world and knitting changed, I want to knit everything I see related to nature, it is a very special experience, and I am always looking for spaces to live such a special experience.

Hace unos meses navegando en instagram me tropecé con el patrón gratuito de una jirafa, lo guardé para luego tejerla. Un día le propuse a mis amigas tejedoras con quienes me reúno los sábados a tejer que la tejiéramos juntas, solo una de ella se ánimo, pero no la continuó, ya que dice que es pequeña. No la considero pequeña, mide aproximadamente 20 cms de alto.

A few months ago while surfing instagram I stumbled upon the free pattern of a giraffe, I saved it to knit it later. One day I proposed to my knitting friends with whom I meet on Saturdays to knit that we knit it together, only one of them was encouraged, but did not continue, because she says it is small. I don't consider it small, it measures approximately 20 cms high.

Muchas veces me limito a tejer amugurrumis por no poseer el material adecuado para tejerlos, como es el hilo de algodón. Esta jirafa la he tejido en hilo acrílico, lo coloqué doble, para lograr un mayor grosor. Comencé tejiendo la cabeza.

Many times I limit myself to knit amugurrumis because I don't have the right material to knit them, such as cotton yarn. This giraffe I have knitted in acrylic yarn, I placed it double, to achieve a greater thickness. I started knitting the head.

También el hilo marrón lo coloqué doble al momento de tejer los cuernos. He tenido especial cuidado al tejer con el hilo doble, de tal forma el resultado sea prolijo, y sea imperceptible que el hilo que he usado es doble. Lo que me gusta de este hilo es la apariencia brillante que le da al resultado.

I also doubled the brown yarn when weaving the horns. I have taken special care when weaving with the double thread, so that the result is neat, and it is imperceptible that the thread I have used is double. What I like about this yarn is the shiny look it gives to the result.

Me gusta que los resultados se vean prolijos y delicados, cuando voy a pegar las piezas al cuerpo del amigurrumi, antes fijo cada pieza con alfileres, asegurándome que luzcan simétricas; luego cuando realizo la unión al cuerpo se debe hacer de manera que luzca natural.

I like the results to look neat and delicate, so when I am going to glue the pieces to the amigurrumi body, I first fix each piece with pins, making sure they look symmetrical; then when I attach them to the body it should be done in a way that looks natural.

Cuando realizo amigurrumi, de las cosas que más disfruto, es tejer la ropa para vestirlos, combinar los colores, diseñar el atuendo, eso es fascinante. Me parece que a la jirafa le quedó preciosa su braga, luce super coqueta.

Como ya saben, me encantan los botones, tenía estos en la caja de botones, resultando ser perfectos para este outfit.

When I make amigurrumi, one of the things I enjoy the most is knitting the clothes to dress them, combining the colors, designing the o
utfit, that's fascinating. I think the giraffe's panties are beautiful, she looks super cute.

As you already know, I love buttons, I had these in the button box, turning out to be perfect for this outfit.

Acá una variante del patrón, es que nunca sigo el patrón en su totalidad, le coloqué unas pequeñas hojas verdes a la flor. Definitivamente, esta bufanda le da un toque especial y elegante a la jirafa.

Here is a variation of the pattern, I never follow the pattern in its entirety, I added some small green leaves to the flower. Definitely, this scarf gives a special and elegant touch to the giraffe.

Estoy encantada con el resultado, el hilo luce bien, la jirafa luce radiante y vibrante. Cuando la mostré a mi madre quedó encantada con lo delicada y elegante que luce la jirafa.

I am delighted with the result, the yarn looks great, the giraffe looks radiant and vibrant. When I showed it to my mother she was delighted with how delicate and elegant the giraffe looks.
