Don't Go Back

Why would you go back to something That almost made you disappear
When the end of the suffering
Seemed to be so near
You were finally starting to be yourself again
Without crumbling under the desperate pain

Love yourself and not this one
Smile when he's eventually gone
Trust in your own strength
Keep up your shattered self - defense Don't listen to another empty word
While the last failed promises still hurt Love yourself and let yourself grow
So your light can start again to glow

Such a wonderful soul
Shouldn't settle for anything but great This foul compromise
Is not your written fade
Love would never break you down Sincerity would never make you drown You deserve the biggest joy and so much more
So much more than what he has you in for

He promises so much but never follows through
You don't want to see it but it's absolutely true
Please don't repeat
What already broke you once
Offering the other cheek
Was never the right response
He asks and you let him back in
This is just a game you can never win
