| Mi ultima rotacion clinica - Ginecobstetricia | My last clinic rotation - Gynecobstetrics [ES/EN]
Hola a todos en la comunidad, espero que se encuentren muy bien el día de hoy. El lunes que paso inicio mi ultima rotación clínica y debo superar este ultimo reto para avanzar a las pasantías y posteriormente graduarme como medico.
Hello everyone in the community, I hope you are doing well today. This past Monday I start my last clinical rotation and I must overcome this last challenge to advance to the internship and then graduate as a physician.
¿Qué es ginecobstetricia?
Básicamente es la rama de la medicina que se encarga de estudiar todo el aparato reproductor femenino, en todas sus presentaciones. Tiene 2 vertientes, la rama que es totalmente medica conocida como Ginecología, esta se encarga de estudiar todas las patologías, sus posibles complicaciones y el tratamiento que deben ameritas las pacientes para poder salir de esto. Por otro lado, la rama de Obstetricia es la parte que es netamente quirúrgica y se encarga de realizar cualquier tipo de procedimiento que amerite ser llevado a quirófano, también es la encargada de traer al mundo al producto de toda las madres embarazadas ya sea por un parto eutócico o a través de una cesárea segmentaria.
What is gynecobstetrics?
Basically it is the branch of medicine that is responsible for studying the entire female reproductive system, in all its presentations. It has 2 aspects, the branch that is totally medical known as Gynecology, this is responsible for studying all the pathologies, their possible complications and the treatment that should ameritas patients to get out of this. On the other hand, the branch of Obstetrics is the part that is purely surgical and is responsible for performing any type of procedure that deserves to be taken to the operating room, is also responsible for bringing into the world the product of all pregnant mothers either by euthyroid delivery or through a segmental cesarean section.
Nuestro hospital central de San Cristóbal se caracteriza por ser un hospital universitario y tenemos la oportunidad de realizar uno que otro procedimiento bajo la supervisión de nuestros residentes o incluso los especialistas.
Our central hospital in San Cristobal is characterized as a teaching hospital and we have the opportunity to perform some procedures under the supervision of our residents or even specialists.
Actualmente mi grupo esta conformado por 4 personas, nos encontramos en ARO (Alto riesgo obstétrico) y en este lugar se encuentran aquellas pacientes que tienen alguna patología o han presentado alguna complicación durante el embarazado que pueda colocar en riesgo al feto.
Currently my group is made up of 4 people, we are in HOR (High Obstetric Risk) and in this place are those patients who have some pathology or have presented some complication during pregnancy that may put the fetus at risk.

El día de ayer durante la guardia me colocaron el trabajo de realizar varios ECO para verificar la vitalidad del feto.
Yesterday during the on-call I was given the task of performing several ECHO's to verify the vitality of the fetus.

Como pueden observar el equipo que usamos en ARO es bastante antiguo, pero cumple con los requerimientos que amerita dicho servicio, no estaría mal tener uno mas actual pero aun así, no dejamos de trabajar y aprovechar al máximo los recursos que tenemos disponibles.
As you can see, the equipment we use at HOR is quite old, but it meets the requirements of this service, it would not be bad to have a more current one, but even so, we do not stop working and make the most of the resources we have available.
