Sentido humano de la navidad [esp] [eng]

Quisiera en este mi primer escrito del año en la comunidad de humanitas resaltar a través de varias gratas experiencias que tuve en el mes de diciembre del año pasado el componente humano de las fiestas navideñas que le dan un color y sentido especial a este mes. En efecto, nos deseamos "feliz navidad" y ¿Qué más propiamente puede significar esto sino el nacimiento o renacer de los más hermosos y maravillosos valores que enaltecen al ser humano? Como lo son la comprensión y empatía, la sensibilidad y accionar ante las carencias de los demás y la solidaridad desinteresada.

Educación del corazón

El primer par de experiencias que quiero compartir y reflexionar ocurrieron el 09 de diciembre y se basaron ambas en involucrar a diversos grupos humanos en actividades de ayuda social, uno de los sectores donde más claramente se despierta una auténtica comprensión por diversas realidades humanas y la empatía necesaria para afrontarlas.

El primer grupo se trató de jóvenes de uno de los liceos cercano a la comunidad, "El Ujano", los cuales están cursando su último año de bachillerato y durante el último trimestre del año pasado estuvieron realizando su servicio comunitario en el comedor de la parroquia. Como cierre de sus actividades, le realizaron una fiesta de despedida a los niños. El segundo, fue un grupo de parejas de la Iglesia, a ellas se las invitó a organizar una serie de regalos para dos de los niños que atiende una institución para personas con condiciones especiales (HONIM), pues, por esas fechas siempre piden la colaboración para apadrinar a los niños que allí viven.

Qué grato es hacer posible estos espacios donde educamos nuestro corazón a una de las principales cosas que de la navidad debemos aprender, una y otra vez, la importancia de salir de nosotros para compartir con los más necesitados, así como celebramos que Dios en cierta forma sale de sí para venir y habitar entre notros en un niño nacido en Belén.

Accionar necesario

El otro par de experiencias ocurrieron una el 17 de diciembre y la otra el 26. En ellas palpé de manera especial como los deseos de prosperidad que en navidad nos deseamos no son nada si no hacemos nada para accionarlos, es decir, que no sirve de nada celebrar una navidad que ocurrió hace 2023 años si no la actualizamos en medio de nuestras realidades contemporáneas. Dicho accionar pasa por estar atentos a las diversas necesidad que existen en nuestro alrededor y poner manos a la obra en lo poco o mucho que podamos colaborar.

Ciertamente, ante tantas necesidades que existen lo que hacemos puede parecer muy poco, pero lo importante es dar nuestro grano de arena, sumar a causas buenas y nobles. Qué bonito es cuando te rodeas de personas que tienen esta clases de convicciones. Es lo que quiero resaltar de las dos últimas experiencias señaladas, pues, el 17 de diciembre una pareja se acercó a mi parroquia para por tercer año consecutivo traer alegría a los niños y abuelos de nuestro comedor con un almuerzo navideño y juegos para los niños. Este año sumaron a su obra, además de a sus familiares más cercanos, como padres y hermanos, a los trabajadores de una empresa que han inaugurado hace unos meses y trajeron una sorpresa especial, como fue la mascota del "Guarito" representativa del equipo de beisbol regional, los cardenales de Lara.

Respecto a la segunda experiencia, la del 26 de diciembre, fue muy gratificante también, ya que junto a amigos de otras comunidades parroquiales fuimos a algunos caseríos de Pavia, sector retirado de la ciudad con muchas y diversas necesidades. Allí experimentamos el milagro de la generosidad, el cual consiste en que cuando estamos dispuestos a donar, incluso tenemos la oportunidad de ayudar a más personas, así sucedió, ya que terminamos atendiendo incluso más caseríos que los que inicialmente habíamos planificado. Es que hubo muchas personas, iniciativas y organizaciones que nos prestaron su valioso apoyo, entre ellas, debo mencionar a la comunidad Hive's Red Carpet, el nicho en Hive que resalta todo lo relacionado con la moda, pues gracias a @zullyscott nos hicieron llegar ropa que en donación habían recogido como parte de la iniciativa navideña de esa comunidad. Los frutos cosechados

Los frutos principales que debemos esperar de las celebraciones de navidad considero deben ser los que llevamos dentro de nosotros mismos, esto es, el crecimiento humano que las buenas obras que en estos días podamos realizar nos deje. En efecto, es navidad cuando nos damos cuenta de que estamos en este mundo con un sentido muy grande, uno que es más grande incluso que nosotros mismos, puesto que no es solo que nosotros podamos ser felices sino también que tenemos la capacidad de llevar un poco de esa felicidad a los demás.

Por eso, como última experiencia a reseñar y reflexionar menciono el compartir navideño que se hizo con los niños de la comunidad, la fiesta que con mucho amor y espero prepararon algunos servidores de la comunidad junto al aporte de la fundación "Alimenta la solidaridad" quienes son los principales garantes de los insumos para el comedor de los niños. En este actividad fueron beneficiados cerca de 100 niños, entre los del comedor, catequesis y algunos que integraron el coro de las misas de aguinaldos. Nuevamente, se hizo presente el milagro de la generosidad, porque un almuerzo que estaba previsto para 50 se multiplicó para casi 200 personas, contando a servidores y representantes de los asistentes. De igual manera, hubo regalos y rifas de juguetes para todos los niños.

Es aquí donde también podemos decir que la donación que se hace en este tipo de actividades deja el mejor de los frutos que en la vida humana se pueda cosechar, el de la alegría de hacer felices a otros, el de la felicidad y satisfacción del corazón de ser partícipes de obras que hacen palpable que el bien es más fuerte que el mal y que la esperanza nunca se pierde, porque siguen existiendo y existirán personas que dejan huella de impacto positivo en la sociedad.

ENGLISH VERSION

In this, my first writing of the year in the humanitas community, I would like to highlight the human component of the Christmas festivities that give a special color and meaning to this month, through various pleasant experiences I had in the month of December of last year. Indeed, we wish each other "Merry Christmas" and what else can this mean but the birth or rebirth of the most beautiful and wonderful values that exalt the human being? Such as understanding and empathy, sensitivity and action in the face of the needs of others and selfless solidarity.

Education of the heart

The first pair of experiences that I would like to share and reflect on occurred on December 9th and were both based on involving diverse human groups in social aid activities, one of the sectors where an authentic understanding for diverse human realities and the empathy necessary to confront them is most clearly awakened.

The first group was made up of young people from one of the high schools near the community, "El Ujano", who are in their last year of high school and during the last quarter of last year were doing their community service in the parish dining room. At the end of their activities, they held a farewell party for the children. The second one was a group of couples from the Church, they were invited to organize a series of gifts for two of the children who attend an institution for people with special conditions (HONIM), because, for those dates, they always ask for collaboration to sponsor the children who live there.

How pleasant it is to make possible these spaces where we educate our hearts to one of the main things that we must learn from Christmas, again and again, the importance of going out of ourselves to share with the most needy, just as we celebrate that God in a certain way goes out of himself to come and dwell among us in a child born in Bethlehem.

Necessary action

The other two experiences occurred on December 17 and the other on December 26. In them I felt in a special way how the wishes of prosperity that we wish for ourselves at Christmas are nothing if we do nothing to act on them, that is, it is useless to celebrate a Christmas that happened 2023 years ago if we do not update it in the midst of our contemporary realities. This action involves being attentive to the various needs that exist around us and put our hands to work in the little or much that we can collaborate.

Certainly, in the face of so many needs what we do may seem very little, but the important thing is to give our grain of sand, to add to good and noble causes. How nice it is when you surround yourself with people who have these kinds of convictions. This is what I want to highlight from the last two experiences mentioned above. On December 17, a couple came to my parish for the third consecutive year to bring joy to the children and grandparents of our dining room with a Christmas lunch and games for the children. This year they added to their work, in addition to their closest relatives, such as parents and siblings, the workers of a company they inaugurated a few months ago and brought a special surprise, such as the "Guarito" mascot representing the regional baseball team, the Cardinals of Lara.

Regarding the second experience, that of December 26, it was also very gratifying, since together with friends from other parish communities we went to some hamlets of Pavia, a remote sector of the city with many and diverse needs. There we experienced the miracle of generosity, which is that when we are willing to donate, we even have the opportunity to help more people, and so it happened, as we ended up serving even more villages than we had initially planned. There were many people, initiatives, and organizations that lent us their valuable support, among them, I must mention the Hive's Red Carpet community, the niche in Hive that highlights everything related to fashion, because thanks to @zullyscott they sent us clothes that they had collected as part of the Christmas initiative of that community. The harvested fruits

The main fruits that we should expect from the Christmas celebrations, I believe, should be those that we carry within ourselves, that is, the human growth that the good works that we can perform during these days leave us. Indeed, it is Christmas when we realize that we are in this world with a very great meaning, one that is even greater than ourselves, since it is not only that we can be happy but also that we can bring a little of that happiness to others.

Therefore, as a last experience to review and reflect, I mention the Christmas sharing that was made with the children of the community, the party that with much love and hope prepared some servers of the community with the contribution of the foundation "Alimenta la solidaridad" who are the main guarantors of the supplies for the children's dining room. In this activity, about 100 children benefited, among those of the dining room, catechesis and some who were part of the choir of the Christmas masses. Once again, the miracle of generosity was present, because a lunch that was planned for 50 was multiplied for almost 200 people, including servers and representatives of the assistants. Likewise, there were gifts and raffles of toys for all the children.

It is here where we can also say that the donation made in this type of activity leaves the best fruit that can be harvested in human life, the joy of making others happy, the happiness and satisfaction of the heart to be participants in works that make it clear that good is stronger than evil and that hope is never lost, because there are still and there will be people who leave a mark of positive impact on society.
