Hello everyone! I hope you are feeling great today, I want to share with you a new review.... This time of the novel: The Red Queen, a captivating and complex dystopia written by Victoria Aveyard, which managed to capture my attention from the first moment I heard of this work, usually these dystopian books are the ones my girlfriend loves the most, and then she recommends them to me. I read this one with her a while ago. The premise is about a society divided by blood, where people with silver blood possess strange powers, while those with red blood... live in poverty and oppression. I found this story quite interesting, and the touch of blood...

I hadn't heard of it, I found it curious. The main character is Mare Barrow, she is a young blood... Red, yes (obvious haha). She is constantly torn between accepting her place in established society, poverty.. or fighting for a more just future. When she accidentally reveals that she possesses abilities, something super strange for her kind, she is forcibly taken to a castle, and forced to play the role of a princess, becoming a key element to fight.

Hola a todos! Espero se encuentren súper bien el día de hoy, quiero compartirles una nueva reseña.. Esta vez de la novela: La reina roja, una cautivadora y compleja distopia escrita por Victoria Aveyard, que logró captar mi atención desde el primer momento que oí de esta obra, normalmente estos libros así de distocia son los que más les encanta a mi novia, y después me los recomienda. Este lo leí con ella hace un tiempo. La premisa trata de una sociedad dividida por sangre, donde las personas con sangre plateada poseen unos extraños poderes, mientras que los de sangre roja.. viven en la pobreza y la opresión. Esta historia me pareció bastante interesante, y el toque de la sangre..

No lo había escuchado, me pareció curioso. La protagonista es Mare Barrow, es una joven de sangre.. Roja, si (obvio jaja). Ella constantemente se debate entre aceptar su lugar en la sociedad establecida, la pobreza.. o luchar por un futuro más justo. Cuando accidentalmente revela que posee habilidades, algo súper extraño para su clase, es llevada por la fuerza a un castillo, y forzada a interpretar el papel de una princesa, convirtiéndose en un elemento clave para luchar.

I feel that one of the greatest successes found here was the construction of the world... it is very complex and interesting, politics, wars.... They are key elements present in this work, of which it is necessary to soak to understand everything correctly. The division of society, in several castes, is a very marked allegory in relation to the inequality and oppression that is currently lived in many countries (Reference Venezuela haha). The conflict between these rebel groups and the silver monarchy adds a certain level of tension and action that keeps you hooked.

But, beyond the plot, the characters also stand out a lot, Mare, Cal, Maven and Evangeline, are very human characters... with nuances, and their due emotional complexity. The relationship between Mare and the princes, is very well spun.. mysteries, betrayal, and good plot twists. Although there are times when the story comes across as too overloaded with somewhat familiar dystopian elements.... Although the author tries hard to give them that unique twist, to make them feel original.

Siento que uno de los mayores aciertos encontrados aquí, fue la construcción del mundo.. es muy complejo e interesante, la política, las guerras.. Son elementos claves presentes en esta obra, de los cuales es necesario empaparse para entender todo correctamente. La división de la sociedad, en varias castas, es una alegoría muy marcada en relación con la desigualdad y opresión que se vive actualmente en muchos países (Referencia Venezuela jaja). El conflicto entre estos grupos rebeldes y la monarquía plateada, agrega cierto nivel de tensión y acción que te mantiene enganchado.

Pero, más allá de la trama, también se destacan mucho los personajes, Mare, Cal, Maven y Evangeline, son personajes muy humanos.. con matices, y su debida complejidad emocional. La relación entre Mare y los príncipes, está muy bien hilada.. misterios, traición, y buenos giros de guion. Aunque hay veces que la historia se ve como muy sobrecargada de elementos distópicos algo familiares.. Aunque la autora se esfuerza por darles ese giro único, para que se sientan originales.

I consider The Red Queen a captivating and memorable read, which has managed to combine an interesting premise, complex characters and excellent storytelling. It is a dystopia that entertains, but also makes you think... There are many exciting themes within this work, food for thought for a while, issues such as social justice, power, and identity. My final rating is.. 4/5. I thought it was good enough to recommend, and I'm sure fiction lovers will like it.

Considero a La Reina Roja una lectura cautivadora y memorable, que ha logrado combinar una premisa interesante, personajes complejos y una narrativa excelente. Es una distopía que te entretiene, pero también te hace reflexionar.. Hay muchos temas interesantes dentro de esta obra, para pensar un rato, temas como la justicia social, el poder y la identidad. Mi calificación final es.. 4/5. Me pareció lo suficientemente buena para recomendarla, y seguro a los amantes de la ficción les gustará.
