Hello everyone! I hope you are great community of The Anime Realm, today I want to bring you another review, this time of an incredible anime. Considered by many as the anime of the year 2022, leading it to have enough recognition in the medium, surely you have seen it. Today I want to share my opinion of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, for me a unique and heartbreaking work like few others. This anime manages to transport us to a world with a dystopian future, where technology and human greed have corrupted ALL of society...

This Netflix series is set in the same universe of the video game Cyberpunk 2077, which was expected by many, but unfortunately did not meet expectations. We will enter the dark and dangerous streets of Night City... In this place it seems that human life has little value, and organized crime is in charge, in all this atmosphere, we meet our protagonist, David Martinez, a very talented young man, but has been marginalized for many reasons.. so he ends up joining a group of mercenaries, this would completely change the life of David, making him go down a path of survival and violence.

Hola a todos! Espero se encuentren genial comunidad de The Anime Realm, el día de hoy quiero traerles otra reseña, esta vez de un anime increíble.. Considerado por muchos como el anime del año del 2022, llevándolo a tener bastante reconocimiento en el medio, de seguro lo habrán visto. Hoy les quiero compartir mi opinión de Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, para mí una obra única y desgarradora como pocas. Este anime logra transportarnos a un mundo con un futuro distópico, donde la tecnología y la codicia humana han corrompido TODA la sociedad..

Esta serie de Netflix, está ambientada en el mismo universo del videojuego Cyberpunk 2077, el cual fue esperado por muchos, pero que lastimosamente no cumplió con las expectativas. Nos adentraremos en las calles oscuras y peligrosas de Night City.. En este lugar parece que la vida humana tiene poco valor, y el crimen organizado es quien manda, en toda esta atmosfera, conocemos a nuestro protagonista, David Martinez, un joven muy talentoso, pero que ha sido marginado por muchas razones.. por lo que termina uniéndose a un grupo de mercenarios, esto cambiaria por completo la vida de David, haciéndolo ir por un camino de supervivencia y violencia.

This anime has an extraordinary animation, this makes the whole experience magnificent, the animation studio Trigger, has always made anime with fantastic animation, and this would not be the exception. They show us a dazzling visual spectacle, with frenetic and very enjoyable action sequences, all this adding the cyberpunk aesthetics that is impregnated throughout the series, giving it that futuristic touch that I love so much.

The character designs are also very well done, and each scenario seems to be meticulously crafted to immerse you completely in this dystopia... you can feel the dark and oppressive vibe of the whole city, but beyond its visual beauty, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners also stands out for its super complex narrative, and for its characters... David is a protagonist who unfortunately had very bad luck in life, to see how he constantly evolves through the bizarre situations in which he is involved, is simply heartbreaking.

His whole relationship with Lucy, a fellow member of his same organization, also touches your heart a lot, this mysterious woman becomes his drive... his strength to face his adversities, without a doubt, are the emotional heart of this series. We are reminded of the importance of love, how difficult it is to find it and keep it in such a dehumanized world.

Este anime tiene una animación extraordinaria, esto hace que toda la experiencia sea magnífica, el estudio de animación Trigger, siempre ha hecho animes con una animación fantástica, y este no sería la excepción. Nos muestran un espectáculo visual deslumbrante, con unas secuencias de acción frenéticas y muy disfrutables, todo eso sumándole la estética cyberpunk que está impregnada en toda la serie, dándole ese toque futurístico que me encanta tanto.

Los diseños de los personajes también están muy bien hechos, y cada escenario parece estar meticulosamente elaborado para sumergirte por completo en esta distopía.. se siente la vibra oscura y opresiva de toda la ciudad, pero más allá de su belleza visual, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners destaca también por su narrativa super compleja, y por sus personajes.. David es un protagonista que lastimosamente tuvo muy mala suerte en la vida, ver como evoluciona constantemente por las situaciones bizarras en las que se ve envuelto, es simplemente desgarrador.

Toda su relación con Lucy, una compañera de su misma organización, también te toca mucho el corazón, esta misteriosa mujer se convierte en su impulso.. su fuerza para afrontar sus adversidades, sin duda, son el corazón emocional de esta serie. Nos recuerdan la importancia del amor, lo difícil que es encontrarlo y mantenerlo en un mundo tan deshumanizado.

All of the themes explored in this anime are captivating... different important issues are addressed, such as identity, the corruption of power, and the ethical limits of technological supremacy. It makes us question how much we are willing to sacrifice in the name of progress and improvement. The viewer can easily identify with the circumstances of the protagonists, and rethink what lines can or cannot be crossed to opt for a better life... Although this series has its fair share of intensity and violence, it is not just a mindless, empty action series.

Each combat scene is very well choreographed, and has its corresponding narrative purpose, whether it is to develop the characters, or to push the plot forward, looking for ways to improve the situations or losses of this curious group of mercenaries. I think one of the best strengths this anime has, is its way of keeping the somber tone without falling into typical cliché gang series, it's interesting to see the faint hope at key moments, and how humanity has had to manage to survive in this dystopian society.

Todos los temas explorados en este anime son cautivadores.. se abordan distintos temas importantes, como la identidad, la corrupción del poder, y los límites éticos de la supremacía tecnológica. Nos hace cuestionarnos mucho que tanto estamos dispuestos a sacrificar en nombre del progreso, y las mejoras. El espectador puede identificarse fácilmente con las circunstancias de los protagonistas, y replantearse que líneas se pueden o no cruzar para optar por una vida mejor.. Aunque esta serie tiene su buena dosis de intensidad y violencia, no se trata de una simple serie con acción sin sentido, con acción vacía..

Cada escena de combate, está muy bien coreografíada, y tiene su debido propósito narrativo correspondiente, ya sea darle desarrollo a sus personajes, o impulsar a la trama, buscando maneras de mejorar las situaciones o pérdidas de este curioso grupo de mercenarios. Creo que de los mejores puntos fuertes que tiene este anime, es su manera de mantener el tono sombrío sin caer en cosas típicas de las series clichés de pandillas, es interesante ver la tenue esperanza en los momentos clave, y como la humanidad ha tenido que arreglárselas para sobrevivir en esta sociedad distópica.

Honestly, I would have liked to explore in more depth some secondary characters, to know their stories or backgrounds, but it's clear that telling the lives of all the secondary characters is not very convenient technically... Another little thing, is that I felt that sometimes the rhythm accelerated a lot... some plots were rushed, especially in the final episodes. But these are small things, they are nothing compared to the tremendous quality that this series offers us, the way it gives you such a unique, captivating and emotionally impacting experience is incredible.

This anime is a gem, which I highly recommend, with spectacular animation, a very well constructed story, and extremely deep characters... if I consider it as the best of the year 2022, it is an experience that will surely leave you shocked... it left me without emotional stability haha. I give it a powerful rating of 9.5/10. If you are a fan of futuristic aesthetics, and cyberpunk gangs, you will love it for sure, its good dose of action and good story will leave any fan of these genres very satisfied. Sinceramente, me fuera gustado que exploraran con más profundidad algunos personajes secundarios, conocer sus historias o trasfondos, pero es claro que ponerse a contar las vidas de todos los secundarios no es muy conveniente a nivel técnico.. Otra cosita, es que sentí que algunas veces el ritmo se aceleró mucho.. algunas tramas se vieron apresuradas, más que todo en los episodios finales. Pero son cosas pequeñas, no son nada comparados a la tremenda calidad que nos ofrece esta serie, la manera de brindarte una experiencia tan única, cautivadora, y emocionalmente impactante es increíble.

Este anime es una joya, que recomiendo ampliamente, con una animación espectacular, una historia muy bien construida, y personajes sumamente profundos.. si la considero como lo mejor del año 2022, es toda una experiencia que seguramente te dejara impactado.. a mí me dejo sin estabilidad emocional jaja. Le doy una potente calificación de 9.5/10. Si eres fanático de la estética futurista, y de las pandillas cyberpunk, seguro lo amaras, su buena dosis de acción y buena historia dejan a cualquier fanático de estos géneros muy satisfecho.
