Hola amigos de esta hermosa comunidad #PlantPower, sé que ya culminó challenge YOUR VEGGIE SHOPPING, pero quiero mostrarles como es este proceso en mi casa.

En casa el mercado se hace quincenal y por eso no había podido hacer esta publicación. Recibí la amable invitación de mi amiga @chacald.dcymt, pero no pude llegar a tiempo, aun así me apego al dicho "Más vale tarde que nunca", y así darles a conocer un poco de mi cocina.☺️

Hello friends of this beautiful community #PlantPower, I know that already culminated challenge YOUR VEGGIE SHOPPING, but I want to show you how is this process in my house.

At home the market is done biweekly and that's why I had not been able to make this publication. I received the kind invitation of my friend @chacald.dcymt, but I could not arrive on time, even so I stick to the saying "Better late than never", and thus give you to know a little of my kitchen.☺️

Esos ojitos madrugadores son de mi esposo, él es quien se encarga de hacer el mercado, ya que sale muy temprano de la casa y como tiene que caminar tres cuadras hasta la casa de mi primo, pues a él no le gusta que yo lo acompañe.

Mi primo es quien tiene una camioneta 350 (esas son las que tienen barandas en la parte de atrás) y cuando él va a hacer sus compras varias familias aprovechan el viaje, él los lleva y los trae a sus casas y algo importante no cobra por eso.

He is the one who is in charge of doing the market, since he leaves the house very early and since he has to walk three blocks to my cousin's house, he doesn't like me to go with him.

My cousin is the one who has a 350 truck (those are the ones with railings in the back) and when he goes to do his shopping several families take advantage of the trip, he takes them to and from their homes and something important he does not charge for that.

Salen a las 5:00 am de la casa y la feria de verduras abre a 5:40 am o a las 6:00 am más o menos. La ventaja de ir todos juntos es que se cuidan las compras unos con otros, mientras algunos escogen las verduras, otros están haciendo la cola para cancelar y así todo el proceso es más rápido, la mayoría de los que van son familia.

A la feria de verduras donde asisten se llama CECOSESOLA son las siglas de Central Cooperativa de Servicios Sociales de Lara, como lo dice el cartel en la imagen principal, es orgullo de Venezuela.

Ellos prestan varios servicios importantes a la comunidad, ya que son accesibles para las personas de bajos recursos y por su gran trayectoria les fue otorgado el Premio Nobel Alternativo 2022. Si deseas conocer un poco más puedes pulsar Aquí

En la feria venden víveres y verduras, esta feria es surtida sin intermediario, del productor va directo a la cooperativa, por eso todo es fresco. A nosotros nos encanta comprar acá porque como todo es tan fresco, nos dura en buenas condiciones hasta finalizada la quincena, que es cuando toca hacer el mercado nuevamente.

In the fair they sell groceries and vegetables, this fair is supplied without intermediaries, from the producer goes directly to the cooperative, so everything is fresh. En la feria la mercancía está dividida en:

La miniferia es más económica, ya que es donde se encuentran los productos de temporada porque hay mucha producción, también se encuentran los que son seleccionados porque sufrieron por las lluvias o simplemente tienen algún detalle.

Esto es relativo, a veces todo está tan bueno que es mejor comprar en la miniferia porque la diferencia es el precio.

La feria grande es donde todo es de mayor calidad.

Mi esposo se sorprendió cuando le pedí que tomara fotos jejeje y aquí están, tomo de casi todos los productos, le falto de las frutas, pero no le dije nada, mucho es que además de compra me saco las fotos.

Este es el mercado que mi esposo me trajo y ahora toca mi turno, el de limpiar y organizar todo.

Lo primero que hago es sacar todo de las bolsas y organizar por categoría para ir lavando, este paso es muy importante porque se conservan mejor y pues están limpias en la nevera.

Ellas vienen con sucio, barro, ya que ellos así las compran y para no aumentar el costo, no las someten a limpieza.

This is the market that my husband brought me and now it's my turn to clean and organize everything.

The first thing I do is to take everything out of the bags and organize them by category to wash them, this step is very important because they keep better and they are clean in the fridge.

En esta fotografía quise mostrarle este animalito, es una Babosa, a ellas les encanta comer cosas saludables, jejeje, yo creo que es un indicador de que los productores no someten a tantos químicos las siembras, no sé si estoy equivocada.

En esta oportunidad conté con la ayuda de mi hija @tsunsica para limpiar las hortalizas, yo les quito la raíz que es donde hay más barro y luego con un paño seco le termino de quitar la humedad y cualquier resto de sucio, ella luego las corta, separando los tallos de las hojas y las guardamos por separado colocándolas en unas bolsas plásticas con cierre mágico y les colocamos papel absorbente y también un pedazo de papel de reciclaje para absorber la humedad.

Separamos los tallos de las hojas, ya que las hojas tienden a marchitarse primero y también para aprovechar al máximo y no desperdiciar nada, se les da uso primero a ellas.

This time I had the help of my daughter @tsunsica to clean the vegetables, I remove the root which is where there is more mud and then with a dry cloth I finish removing the moisture and any remaining dirt, she then cut them, separating the stems from the leaves and store them separately by placing them in plastic bags with magic zipper and we put absorbent paper and also a piece of recycling paper to absorb moisture.

We separate the stems from the leaves, since the leaves tend to wilt first and also to make the most of them and not to waste anything, we use them first.
