It is so Gray and overcast, very windy as well, and I KNOW there is bad weather on its way.
I saw a post by my friend @tobywalter about his 'stressful Wednesday walk' and I thought to myseff, "Seff, you needs to get outta dat house and go fer a walk"
So I did. (Thanks to @tattoodjay for starting all this fun)
There aren't any interesting URBAN things around where I live (not interesting to me anyway) so I decided to go the other way, back into my woods.
No plan, just gonna go walk and take some pics.

And Then It Began

20220217_134620.jpg
Just walking past my burn pile, I figured I'd show the pile of free woodchips I got.

Looking to my right as I passed the burn pile, I was reminded that last night, I came out to get some moon pics

Those two are from the same spot, one with flash, the other without.
I think you can tell which is which 😁
So I tried to get one today from that spot in daylight

Well, not too far off 😏

As soon as I went through my back gate, I began noticing things I'd not noticed before.
I don't know about you, but time of day, time of year can make a huge difference in What you see and what you don't see
I collect blocks and bricks and stones, supposedly for future use in my own landscaping projects; they aren't doing any good buried up under leaves and detritus are they?

Outhouse 4.jpg
Up to that point, I had been walking more or less aimlessly, then I happened to look over to where my outhouse is located
(↑There is no way you can see it from the path like this as is↑)
Stepping down off the path, again I found something I'd not seem before

A glass Casserole Dish, that will make a nice addition to my cookware (but I digress)
I started wading through all the deadfall and pine straw, and the HATED😡 Elaeagnus that, while it feeds the birds (and hence spreads prolifically) it has thorns, it is a bush but will grow like a vine, and is generally a total (to me) NUISCANCE.

↑THAT is some I cut later↑

I also began seeing some cut stone! (GASP!) and brick etc...
Now my "archaeologist' curiosity was aroused!

So I went back to the house (huffing and puffing, don't let anyone fool you, COPD is no joke) and got my limb loppers

Hit were a chore, let me tell you, and I didn't know it until I saw it on the ground (leaves)

20220217_141705.jpg

I'd popped me watch band loose. I'm glad I saw that, fer shure!

20220217_141118.jpg
After cutting that damned Ill-EE-AGONY, I went back and got my blower as well. I was starting to get a better view of this... whatever it was/is

20220217_142937.jpg
I can't decide is this is just a pile of rubble that has been dumped like so many other things, or

20220217_143012.jpg

Is it stuff piled over a grave? OR

image.png
Was the path to the outhouse either semi paved or lined with stone/brick? I didn't think to turn around, but the terlet structure was about 6-8 feet behind me, but you can see buried brick even down here.
I am gonna have to go back with my pitchfork (great tool for probing the ground in search of anything different from dirt) and see JUST how far these brick/stone/pieces go.
Who knows! Maybe I'll rebuild it and put it back into use!

One should be careful, when'st probing around bricks and an outhouse... Make sure they are bricks, and not...

This isn’t a sorta Wednesday Walk it is a Wednesday Walk

You walk turned up being more than expected and a bit of hard work
I find unplanned walks often the best

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

You just made my day JJ, so good to hear from you.
I remembered ALL those times when I was reluctant to use the tag because it wasn't Wednesday, so I felt comfortable posting with it.
