Year end thanksgiving: Everyone is happy and grateful

Thank you Lord for your love, guidance, protection and sustaining grace. Without you we never made it till this last day of 2024.

Every thing has its beginning and ending and this year 2024 will end today.

Hello my dear hivians, how are you this last day of the year? Might be almost everyone is busy preparing everything for new year.

Before the year end, I would like to share with you our YEAR END THANKSGIVING.

During the last Sabbath of the year (December 28, 2024) we had our year end thanksgiving.

The program started in the morning and our Pastor gave a message and this one what I remember the most.

Be thankful because we still have the chance to reach 2025, because others never made it through. Some died because of accident and others because of disease.

He also told us the story about the ten leepers that Jesus healed, 10 of them were healed but only one came back and give thanks.

He remind us to be grateful and learn to give thanks.

We also brought and gave our thanksgiving offering. Others gave according to their age and other according how grateful they are for the whole year.

We have our lunch together and everyone enjoys it with ice cream. I don't have any pictures as I am taking care of my new born baby.

In the afternoon, many share their testimonies how good our God is in their life. Our emcee asked us to write the things we are grateful for in the year 2025.

With that question, I write life, family, friends, food and shelter on top. Then after everyone was done, he let us choose atleast one and share it to the congregation.

While listening, I am amazed because everyone has different things to be grateful for. Indeed we received different blessings and we are grateful for many things.

I am grateful for our little house because we have a shelter in times of rainy and sunny days.

A 5 year old girl are thankful for the rain because their plants in their farm grow.

My 7 year old son is thankful for the good health.

A father is grateful for having two little girls and he even added that he still want a baby boy.

A brother in the congregation is grateful because he and his family were safe during an accident.

A student is grateful because she belongs to an achiever in school.

A mother is grateful because her employer lend her 50,000.00 to be used for her daughter who is graduating in school and has a lot of requirements.

Many more to mentions, indeed everyone is grateful for different things.

We had a Bible quiz every Sabbath and the giving of prizes also done during the year end thanksgiving.

Those people who seldom join and have low scores received two ballpen as the consolation prizes. Next higher to them received dippers. They are also happy receiving these simple prizes.

Next higher received clothes hanger and small basin. If you noticed their is a little boy who received hanger, that's my son. At his young age he really wanted to participate. He will just answer to those questions whose answer is just true or false. If their is identification or enumeration he don't have an answer. When his name is called to have that prize, he is so happy.

The fifth and sixth placer received a big basin.

I am the fourth and I received this laundry basket. I am happy to have this because we don't have this at home.

The third placer received a storage box, the wife won but the husband received the prize, lol.

The second placer received small basin and a storage box.

The first placer received a rattan stool and a laundry box.

We are all happy receiving these simple prizes.

There is also a reward for those early bird whose family always come to the church early.

This couple also come to the church early and they also received a reward. They are our god parents and look, what a genuine smile.

Kids also received their simple yet very much appreciated gift. They are happy seeing toys inside of that bags.

Our year end thanksgiving celebration ended successfully and we are so grateful for everyone who participated and take part in this year end program.
