Moving up Ceremony: A memorable day

Moving up ceremony, recognition day and graduation day are happening and happened this week. Students, parents and teachers were all busy for this one exciting and memorable day especially for students.

My son was recognized as one of the completers for ECCD (Early Childhood Care and Development) Pre Kinder 2 yesterday July 11, 2023. We parents said, at last! Thanks God, it is done successfully.

THE PREPARATION FOR MOVING UP

Teacher called a meeting and we decided the date of the moving up ceremony as well as their attires. Boys will wear white long sleeve with black necktie, black slacks and black shoes. Girls will wear any white dress. We also set a schedule for their practice and pictorial.

I want my son to be clean and tidy on their pictorial as well as on their moving up ceremony. So before their pictorial, I bring him to the barber shop.

Everyday we go to their school for a practice. They practiced singing of their graduation song entitled Proud of You.

They also prepare and practiced for an intermission number where all of them were going to dance. I really like the energy of the kids, they are so interested and willing to learn.

My son was also assigned to give the welcome remarks. As a mother, I prepared his speech short enough for him to memorize and even recited it and record it on my phone and let him listen to it time to time until he memorize it.

I let him practice at home and I even use serving ladle as his microphone, lol.

THE DECORATION

We chose our own venue where we can save. Most of the day care centers near us decided to have their moving up ceremony to one of the known convention hall in town. It is pricey but the place is indeed good. It is really a good venue but some parents doesn't like it because of the contribution.

So, we just chose a venue which is free of charge and we only need to decorate it and off course clean it as it is before we used it.

Some active parents do the decorations and preparation. We are all giving our best not for ourselves but for our children.

Some parents are doing the balloons. Some put air to it, others are combining it together and other is arranging it.

Other parents are doing the backdrop, putting the tarpaulin and arranging the cloth into simple yet attractive.

Other group of parents prepare the loot bags for the students.

Even the kids also lend a helping hand for the decorations. They helped putting some air to the balloons.

It is so good to see that everyone is helping each other to make the moving up ceremony of our children be a memorable one.

I remember one student asked to their teacher, teacher, who has a birthday? and their teacher said, it is all your birthday. A child asked it maybe because she saw a lot of balloons.

We're done and we are all satisfied for our united works. That's our DIY decoration.

MOVING UP CEREMONY

The moving up ceremony will start at 9am. We prepare early and we don't want to be late.

We reached the venue early and we took some pictures first.

It's past 9 but any of our guest didn't came yet so we decided to have a class or group picture first while waiting. This is also a good idea because kids are still fresh and not yet tired.

During the group picture, every parent is trying to get a picture. I smiled while taking this picture saying, here are the proud and very supportive parents.

The program started with processional march. I didn't miss to march with my son too.

This children looks so cute as they fold their arms for a prayer.

They also put their hands on their chest as they sing our national anthem.

Moving up ceremony is a memorable day for our children. This moment for sure will remain on their memories and we parents really give our best to make it happen.

Some parents decided not to let their kids join for some reason. We really encouraged them to let their child join and experience this moment that will just past once on their lives. Glad they listen and we are so happy seeing them on the day of the ceremony.
