Since the pandemic, the beginning of the school year has changed. Before the pandemic, classes started in June and ended in March but now the classes start today, August 29, 2023.

Being a full time mother, it is really my responsibility to take care of my son and prepare everything for him before going to school.

For today's blog let me share to you our FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 2023 EXPERIENCES

THE PREPARATION

Yesterday, a day before the opening of classes I make sure that everything will be ready for my son.

I put names on his notebook, folder, envelopes, pencil, pencil case, crayons and everything so in case he will forget to keep it and left it on the table or in their room, his teacher or classmates could easily identify where to return the lost and found item.

Their teacher required us to provide name tag for our kids so she could identify them easily. I never buy or let others make it for my son but instead I made my DIY name tag which is made from the carton or box of a Dunkin donut. I used crochet tie using ball thread and just used stapler to connect them together. I wrapped it with scotch tapes to make it strong and cannot be wet easily.

I also prepare his shoes and iron his uniform last night so everything will be ready.

Aside for things preparation, I also teach him what to do and remind him to behave in school and listen to their teacher attentively.

EARLY MORNING

I woke up at 4:30 in the morning and cook for our food when my son suddenly talked oh our first class will be today. I never wake him up but he woke up earlier than expected, so excited right?

We took a bath early and had our breakfast early. We prepare and went to the school 15minutes before 7 in the morning.

I went with him on his room and leave him there together with his classmates and teachers.

They attended the first flag ceremony and we followed there. They sing the national anthem and also make some simple exercises.

The sun is up and we can feel its hotness and felt pity to little children but glad after the exercise they go back to their respective classroom.

Their teacher let them fall in line before going in and this is a rule to follow.

When they got to the room, we parents are advised to leave outside the classroom so others went home and others wait for the end of classes.

AFTER FIRST DAY OF CLASS

When my son saw me coming, he runs towards me but I instructed him to go back in their classroom and wait for their teacher's instructions to go home.

After class he can't stop himself but to tell stories about his first day of school. He showed me their very first activity which is to write their name, to color different pictures, to cut it and to paste it. Looking at it I felt proud and happy knowing that my son did it very well.

He even told me that he is very good that morning, behave in their room and even learned to raised his hand to talk to his teacher. I gave him a big smile and a good job as an appreciation.

Being a full time mom for almost six years and became a hands on mom for my son feels tiring sometimes, yes honestly, but the memories and moments we share together are so priceless. A time to take him a bath, a breakfast with him, a walk with him going to school, a moment looking at his achievement, a time to teach and train him and many other moments being with him are irreplaceable. Those are a great prizes that I am enjoying being a full time mom.
