A walk to Cannery Housing

As a mother I woke up early today and prepare my son for school. I sent him to school few minutes before their classes start.

I am about to go home when I decided to have a walk and went through to Cannery Housing.

I saw this group of flowers along the road. The gardener used recycled plastic bottles or paint bottles and used it as a pot for the flowers. It is good for our mother nature, another way of reducing wastes.

Cannery Housing was created long years ago for Dolefil Employees. Residents here are Dole employees before and some are employees at the present.

Come with me as I take a walk this Wednesday morning.

I walk through the entrance and saw this arc. Pinyahan Festival in Barangay Cannery was over yet the arc created in every Purok still stands.

I also want to share the arc that represents our Purok. It is small yet made of metal and might last longer.

Now let's go back to our walk to Cannery Housing. At the entrance you will see this sign, welcome to Cannery Housing. Seeing this you will be sure that you are in the right place if you happen to look for this place.

As I stepped into their main road, I can feel the calmness and the quietness of this place. I haven't seen kids, for sure they're all in school. I haven't seen people outside their houses might be they're inside sleeping for those night shift employees, or everyone is at work.

I only saw few people having a walk and jog on this early morning.

I also like how they protect flowers or plants along the road. They really put tree guard on it.

On this block, houses looks the same, in designs, in sizes and in color. Staffs in Dole Philippines Inc. company are living here for a limited span of time.

I enjoyed having me time as I walk alone in the very quiet path of Cannery Housing. The cloudy weather is with me giving me a cool surroundings.

I saw these two people having their walk, having their exercise, having their quality time together.

I keep on walking and saw these dogs on the road. Look at them, they are looking at each other, are they friends? Or lovers?

After few minutes, I reached their playground. Wow! My eyes are so happy seeing the ground cloth with so much of beautiful green grasses.

I am amazed that their playground is so clean, free from any garbage around. All you can see is the green grass, the big and tall trees giving us fresh air and cool surroundings.

Here are some things that kids can play on. The swings are not usable anymore. I remember I brought my son here before and they enjoyed playing here too.

I grab the opportunity to be there, I find a spot to stay for a while under those big trees. Looking up, you can see the cloudy sky trying to say hello, peeking through the thick leaves of a majestic trees.

The playground is also surrounded by big flowers that made the place more cool, more greens and more relaxing.

It's good to be there, to relax for a while and I felt I am so close to nature because of the atmosphere that these big trees given to me. I am so grateful to have fresh air right from the trees. I felt so relaxed as so my eyes.

After a moment of me time, I decided to walk through a path going out to the highway (cannery road).

I continued to walk and feel the moment of just walking and seeing something around. These are calachuchi trees being planted along the road.

I then passed by the DARBC Supermarket. People are also grateful having this in our barangay.

I continued walking going home and I will end this walk by sharing this picture of Mt. Matutum that can be seen in our mini night market.
