Sweet dance of flavors
Hello creatives of Hive's delicacies
Since childhood I saw how my grandmother made desserts for the family, she created delicious cakes, jellies, cookies, preserves and stop counting.
My grandmother was my heroine in the kitchen, because not only the sweets were exquisite, she also excelled in savory foods and those moments remain in my cellular memory.
Somehow also, those of us who lived with her very closely have a little bit of her recipes and try to copy her, sometimes it is difficult, because she was unique in her seasoning, but other times we put a little bit of our personal essence and wonderful things come out.
Although she is part of my cells, I remember her way of cooking, my essence makes unique desserts and I love to invent things that everyone wants to try and buy.
So today I bring you a dance of flavors for your palate.
They are rich gingerbread cookies, created for this Christmas season, a unique flavor to make explosion in the mouth.
I tell you in several steps what I did and how beautiful they are.
The ingredients for the cookies
- One cup of butter
- One whole egg and one yolk.
- One and a half cups of sugar
- Two cups of leavening flour
- One and a half cups of cornstarch
- Ginger infusion
Ingredients for the decorating icing
- One egg white
- One lemon
- One cup of powdered sugar
- Coloring
- glitter
preparation of the cookies
1 In the bowl of a food processor, place the butter until creamy, add sugar and eggs.
2 add the ginger infusion to taste.
3 add little by little the flour and cornstarch.
4 mix until everything is united and the dough is compact.
5 place the dough on the table, with a little flour so that it does not stick, with a rolling pin stretch the dough very carefully, leaving a thickness of half a centimeter.
6 with a cutter in this case of
hearts and stars, make the cuts to the dough, and go passing them to the trays.
7 once in the trays, take them to the oven for 15 minutes, making sure they are golden underneath.
8 remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the table.
Preparation of the icing for the decoration
have the ingredients at hand, an egg white, lemon and powdered sugar.
9 add all the ingredients in the bowl, beat vigorously until everything is integrated and the mixture is uniform (you can also use the electric beater for greater precision).
10 once the mixture is uniform, divide it into several containers, add to each container the colors that you like the most, in my case green and purple.
11 place the mixture of colors in pastic bags that serve as sleeves to help decorate the cookies.
12 place the cookies on the trays once they are cold, arrange them so that they can be decorated and remain there until they dry.
Open one end of the bag with the colored icing, roll the icing over the top of the cookies by squeezing the bag lightly.
This decoration is creative and you can do whatever shapes and movements are easy, comfortable or risky for you. Just enjoy the process.
Then let the icing dry, it hardens on top of the cookie.
Once dry, it's time to place in clear bags of 6 cookies each, close the wrapper and place the sweet dance stiker.
I made these cookies as a first test to sell in the month of December, they are very soft cookies to the palate, they are very tasty to accompany them with coffee or hot tea, to give to a special person. Celebrate a great success.
