Today is Monday and although I am writing late, I wanted to show you my sewing folder.

Before I tell you, that since I was a child sewing machines have been a reality in my house, I grew up watching my grandmother making rag dolls, in her big machine, also some garments, as well as my aunts, even my mother who always spoiled me with some piece of clothing.

Although they had their knowledge in sewing, these came from practice, observation and magazines that facilitate the development of pieces just cut and sew, without taking measurements, without making large details designed.

As I could not stay behind, seeing so much talent at home, I also developed my garments empirically, with the help of my mother who showed me some tricks and especially the pattern magazines that make life easier.

When I got pregnant, I created my maternity outfits as well as some accessories for the future baby.

This taste for sewing is also possessed by my daughter @nani who since she was a little girl made her garments with different materials, I remember seeing her dressed with newspapers from head to toe when she was 4 or 5 years old.

In short, sewing is one of our talents, I have always wanted to develop it to sew to measure, develop designs and thus achieve my own style created by me, from pattern making to tailoring.

Fashion Design courses are super expensive and always out of my budget. However, thanks to the pandemic, many courses and training in fashion design and tailoring, have seen the need to be done online, with low cost, so, taking this opportunity, I decided to enter a fashion design course, where they teach from pattern making, design history, tailoring drawing among other things, I enrolled quickly.

In this training in its first module, I elaborated many activities that I will show step by step, so that you can witness my progress.

Among so many things, one of the assignments was to make a portfolio of clothing, and pattern making, this time I present my creations in clothing, here elaborated, miniature pieces.

Here I show you the activities that I elaborated there

1. Machine sewing exercises, with various figures, allowed me to use my fingers and hands to move the fabric and adjust to the pattern.

1. Hand sewing of various stitches, including coarse, scapular, scallop stitch, invisible stitch.

1. Attaching buttons and snaps, as well as making buttonholes.
2. Making a mini-blouse to elaborate the simple and complete views.

1. Making a studded and ruched skirt with waistband.

It was a very rewarding experience, I learned a lot and consolidated the skills I already had.

With this sewing folder I closed my module 1, to start next month to the next module, where I will surely find great challenges and experiences.

In other posts I will show you what other things I did in the module, especially the elaboration of a wonderful skirt which I hope to release soon.

From everything I have experienced, I can only be grateful, life always brings magical opportunities that help to achieve dreams, it is never too late when life smiles at you with the blessings that come unexpectedly and arrive at the right time.

Hola creativos de la aguja...

Hace tiempo que no escribo por aquí, sin embargo, tengo un montón de proyectos que enseñaros.

Hoy es lunes y aunque escribo tarde, quería enseñaros mi carpeta de costura.

Antes os cuento, que desde pequeña las máquinas de coser han sido una realidad en mi casa, crecí viendo a mi abuela hacer muñecas de trapo, en su gran máquina, también algunas prendas, así como a mis tías, incluso a mi madre que siempre me mimaba con alguna prenda.

Aunque tenían sus conocimientos en costura, estos provenían de la práctica, de la observación y de las revistas que facilitaban la elaboración de piezas simplemente cortando y cosiendo, sin tomar medidas, sin hacer grandes detalles diseñados.

Como no podía quedarme atrás, al ver tanto talento en casa, también desarrollé mis prendas de forma empírica, con la ayuda de mi madre que me enseñó algunos trucos y sobre todo las revistas de patrones que me facilitan la vida.

Cuando me quedé embarazada, creé mis conjuntos de maternidad, así como algunos accesorios para el futuro bebé.

Este gusto por la costura también lo tiene mi hija @nani que desde pequeña hacía sus prendas con diferentes materiales, recuerdo verla vestida con periódicos de pies a cabeza cuando tenía 4 o 5 años.

En fin, la costura es uno de nuestros talentos, siempre he querido desarrollarlo para coser a medida, desarrollar diseños y así lograr mi propio estilo creado por mí, desde el patronaje hasta la confección.

Los cursos de diseño de moda son súper caros y siempre se salen de mi presupuesto. Sin embargo, gracias a la pandemia, muchos cursos y capacitaciones de diseño de moda y sastrería, han visto la necesidad de realizarse en línea, con bajo costo, por lo que, aprovechando esta oportunidad, decidí ingresar a un curso de diseño de moda, donde enseñan desde patronaje, historia del diseño, dibujo de sastrería entre otras cosas, me inscribí rápidamente.

En esta formación en su primer módulo, elaboré muchas actividades que mostraré paso a paso, para que sean testigos de mis avances.

Entre tantas cosas, una de las tareas era realizar un portafolio de confección, y patronaje, en esta ocasión presento mis creaciones en confección, aquí elaboradas, piezas en miniatura.

Aquí les muestro las actividades que allí elaboré

1. Los ejercicios de costura a máquina, con varias figuras, me permitieron utilizar los dedos y las manos para mover la tela y ajustarse al patrón.

1. Costura a mano de varias puntadas, como la gruesa, el escapulario, la puntada de festón y la puntada invisible.

1. Colocación de botones y broches, así como la realización de ojales.
2. Realización de una minivestido para elaborar las vistas simples y completas.

1. Realización de una falda con tachuelas y fruncidos en la cintura.

Fue una experiencia muy gratificante, aprendí mucho y consolidé las habilidades que ya tenía.

Con esta carpeta de costura cerré mi módulo 1, para empezar el próximo mes al siguiente módulo, donde seguramente encontraré grandes retos y experiencias.

En otros posts les mostraré qué otras cosas hice en el módulo, especialmente la elaboración de una maravillosa falda que espero estrenar pronto.

De todo lo que he vivido, solo puedo estar agradecida, la vida siempre trae oportunidades mágicas que ayudan a cumplir los sueños, nunca es tarde cuando la vida te sonríe con las bendiciones que llegan inesperadamente y en el momento justo.
