Celebrating success
Hello creative people for the weekend
Successes are reasons to celebrate, that fill people with great satisfaction and joy, they are moments to meet again, to share, to express the value of the reason to celebrate.
I particularly love celebrations, especially the candy table and the food. Spending time with the people we like or love, feeling drunk not only of the spiritual beverages we consume, but of the happiness that surrounds us.
In this weekend meeting, that the community proposes us, I want to tell you about one of the best celebrations, parties or events in which I have been. It is the celebration that every year the Faculty Association of the university where I have been a member and where I have been working for more than 12 years.
December 5 is the day of the university professor here in Venezuela, likewise, this date is taken to celebrate the creation of this institution that protects the rights of teachers in their teaching practice.
In addition, the month of December is a beautiful month of celebrations, joy, coloring, it creates a different atmosphere from the other months of the year, emotions are at their highest expression, we all feel like celebrating.
Every December 5th is the date for this great party that is carefully organized months before, since September, the places for the dance are set aside, renting the party hall, the decoration, the selection of the orchestra, the menu that will be served and every detail.
I, for 5 years in a row, was part of the organizer of this event that brought together 300 teachers. A very big party with a lot of emotions.
I remember the arrangement of 35 tables in a very large room, with a dance floor where we enjoyed the whole night. A live orchestra, which entertained the dance, waiters all over the place handing out drinks and snacks.
The teachers, knowing that in December there was a party, began to prepare to buy their clothes and organize the way to attend and then return to their homes, there were very few teachers who missed this feast.
The day of the party, everyone is dressed up, we entered the hall, it looked like a red carpet, a photographer receives us to immortalize the moment, we entered very beautiful and perfumed, at the end of the night disheveled and without shoes.
During the party the waiters pass by with their trays full of delicious snacks, but the one we most want to eat and can never miss in the Venezuelan parties is the tequeño, it is a rolled wheat dough wrapped around a stick of cheese, which is fried and sometimes accompanied with a tomato sauce, it is a delicious snack.
A table of sweets, I remember once we managed to have a table full of 3000 small sweets, many to choose from and enjoy.
Just at midnight comes a special moment in the party which is the crazy hour, at this time we take out under each table a bag or cotillion with whistles, masks, hats and other items to dress up and dance to the rhythm of a remix of music, which makes us jump, do a little train, change partners, dance limbo among other things.
Almost at the end of the celebration, a very big cake filled with many candles comes out, to sing the birthday of this institution, closing with a great moment of union and emotion.
This celebration is long awaited by all, for more than 6 years has not been done again, it was a memorable moment, traditional, unique in the year, but the Venezuelan country situation, made each time the resources for its development were few and very expensive services and impossible to afford. And now even less with the pandemic situation. However, there remains the memory of these parties and the hope of having them again, meeting again with many classmates and colleagues from the university.
For several years I managed just the team of the association to make a party with everything we want to celebrate the Venezuelan professor.
