Hey'll Hivers! Yes, I know. I'm so sorry if it took me days before I posted the part 2 of my short vacation. I tried to update you guys but the signal was very playful. Read first when I started this at Part 1. Anyways, here it is!

From Tacloban, we travelled for another 3 hours going to Guiuan, the hometown of my friend Sasha at Eastern Samar.

The Municipality of Guiuan, is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Eastern Samar, Philippines. It constitutes the southeastern extremity of Samar Island and some adjacent islands, surrounded by major bodies of water including the Leyte Gulf and the Philippine Sea (which a marginal sea of the Pacific Ocean).

Throughout the journey, I was captivated by the rice field plantation and mountains behind me, as well as the wide roads that I've seen almost everywhere. Then I'm even more surprised when we pass by the famous San Juanico Bridge, the Philippines' second longest bridge (after CCLEX). I may be slow or weak in history, or my geography memory is simply too rusty, but I had no idea this bridge was in Samar. Lol

This is why I enjoy traveling. I got to see all the photos that I'd only seen in papers and books before, which really excites me and makes me want to explore more and visit all the places one at a time.

I simply want to see how true and beautiful nature's creations are in the Philippines. And how fortunate we Filipinos are, we don't need passports to visit these unique places because they are already within the country, so why not explore while we can?

(Photo in the right was part of a video while passing by the bridge.)

We finally arrived after a few hours! Sasha's father met us at the drop-off point in Guiuan and drove us to their house on his motorcycle. I was greeted by her family in "Waray" their dialect, which I don't really understand some of the words but can understand bits of because it's a mix of bisaya, tagalog, and waray all together.

On my first morning in Guiuan, I was tour around the town while we bought foods for breakfast. They have a very wide and clean roads. The whole town has a nostalgic feeling like when you were a kid and used to go around the town with friends. I can only imagine how happy @explorewithsasha was that she's finally home.

We also went to their newly built shopping mall for Guiuanons. It's only a short walk from the house. The good news is that everything appears to be within walking distance of the house within the town if you want to walk around the entire area. However, because my friend's father owns a motorcycle, he is too generous to give us free rides whenever he can.

These are just a few of the discoveries I made on my first day in Guiuan. I'll be showing some of their famous spots, cafes in town, and foods in separate blogs! I promise to share very soon. Stay tuned! Thank you so much. 😘❤️
