My First time in Province of Leyte 🏡🗺️
After exploring a bit of Tacloban City, this time we are going to Leyte.
Finally! I would get to experience the place where my grandmother first live, where some of my relatives spent their vacations and some of my friends who had shared their good stories and experiences in Leyte. But ofcourse, this isn't just about it, I am also excited to know how my friend @explorewithsasha live her life in this province.
Leyte is a province in the Philippines located in the Eastern Visayas region. Also the the home of the stunning Kalanggaman Island and its white powdery sand beach, the longest bridge in the country, and a historical World War II site. Aside from these, Leyte is also a top destination for diving, waterfalls, and more stunning beaches. Leyte is versatile when it comes to tourist destinations.

From her sister's place, we all woke up early to prepare for the trip. Our first destination is visiting the Our Lady of Salvacion chapel in Tanauan, Leyte where I believed have made lots of miracles to the devotees and one of its witnesses is Sasha's parents.
The said chapel doesn't look like a chapel outside because its an old vintage house. When you enter the house, the saint is situtated upstairs. Similar to a chapel, you can candle a light at the side and the statue are framed well in front. We stayed for few minutes to offer prayers.
After couple of minutes, we took a ride going to Rizal, Leyte. One of the barangay at Dulag, Leyte where Sasha's mother live. It only took us 20mins travel time, and another 10mins via tricyle.
I was introduced to Sasha's loving relatives and cousins. It was very hot that day but I am very comfortable and at ease I almost thought I was at home. I also met a new friend, his name is coco (if I remembered) a very friendly puppy who was very sweet and clingy to me.
We went to their chapel as well to light some candles and enjoyed our moment the whole afternoon. I also learned that this street where Sasha's mom used to live is where most of her relatives lives too. They are that so close to each other, literally as well as their houses. How awesome is that? If there's an occassion then it would be very joyous and loud. Oh! I miss that kind of bonding.
I remembered, at home in our province, me and my cousins use to live in the same wide large house like a compound. Back then we can always play together and celebrates different occassions altogether, sharing foods and laughters. A lots of memories we created and cherished until now.
The same day, nearly evening, we went to their wet market to buy food for dinner. Sasha's cousin bought a fish to stew. It was very delicious! I really had a good meal. It also was my first time seeing tomatoes and lemon grass on top of their fish. I think they do that so that customers won't need to buy them separately instead buy it together with the fish 😅🤔
I've spent a very nice day so far, walking down their street and hearing the breeze of the sea. You read it right. Their house was just a few steps away from the shore. But my day didn't end up there, I still have some places we've been to in evening, the exciting ones, that I'll share in my next part of my Leyte experience. I hope to see you in Part 2! 🥰😁✌️
