Exploring the Beach at Guiuan | Last day 🌊🏖️🌤️

What's up hivers! I hope everyone is well and is having an amazing weekend with your family and friends. This blog is gonna be the last series of my Guiuan Trip because we will be going on our next destination. Thank you all! Here it goes.🏖️🌊✨

My trip to Eastern Samar would be incomplete if I did not visit their famous beaches. For today's blog, I'll take you to two of Guiuan's most beautiful beaches.

Kaunan ni Sangkay

This is the type of beach where there is a restaurant and small cottages. Sasha and her family treated us to a delicious halo-halo and avocado shake that was both delicious and refreshing. Their halo-halo is very cheap, but the serving is so large that I believe it is enough for two people. It's only 100 pesos ($1.69)! Have you ever had Halo-halo? It has a variety of toppings and fruits on top, as well as ice, milk, and ice cream.

Halo-halo inside the coconut itself is pretty impressive and good for environment so
the restaurant don't use too much plastic containers.

In English, halo-halo means (Mixing) because you have to mix everything before you can eat it. The best time to eat halo-halo in the Philippines is during the hot season, such as summer. You can, however, order it in restaurants or make it at home whenever you want.

After mixing your Halo-Halo, this is how it would look like.

Aside from their yummilicious Halo-halo, they also have the usual filipino dish unto their menu with very reasonable price. At that time we only bought dessert because it was so hot. The beach is located not far away from the town. We only ride a motorcycle and took us 20mins travel time from the town to the beach.

I've also learned that Sangkay means "friend" in Bisaya (Cebuano). So "kaunan ni Sangkay" translates to "Friend's Restaurant." This beach resort is truly ideal for spending time with friends and family on any occasion.

Aside from the restaurant, there are also seats and tables made of coconut trees and cottages. White sand and a stunning islet spanning the island. Actually, I was astounded because I'd never seen two islets so close together.

We moved on to the next beach after that refreshing taste of Halo Halo. We decided not to swim at Kaonan ni Sangkay because the waves at the next beach were better. And we were right, the waves at Calicoan were fantastic! The beautiful giant waves make it ideal for surfers. Beautiful but terrifying! (We both don't know how to swim, lol) So we decided not to swim again. Hahaha! Instead, we ran after our little feet and enjoyed the wind, sand, and waves. I almost want to lie down on the sand and sleep.

This beach is far from the town. I believe, it would take 30mins from town to the beach by motorcycle. I also noticed a few tourists at the beach at the time, some just chilling and others waiting for the right moment to surf. Some were already surfing in time with the waves. We were on our way home when we noticed a mobile cafe. Unfortunately, because we were moving quickly, we were unable to pull over because it was also getting late at the time. Perhaps next time mobile cafe.

Pagnamitan

Finally, we decided to take a quick dip on the last beach we found. It's located under the bridge at Pagnamitan. It is the point at which the currents from the sea and the lake meet. I didn't take a photo at the time because my phone was nearly empty.

That was my Guiuan beach experience on my last day. It was exactly what I expected: relaxing and stunning in its own right. I'll surely miss this place. I'll see you again soon, Guiuan!

Beaches and other tourist spots around Visayas and Mindanao is God-Tier, I swear. I wish I can get there soon.

The presentation of Halo-halo is superb as it imitates the tropical vibes.

Reading your blog made me realize that it's been a while since I tasted halo-halo by myself. It made me crave for some time, ugh. Anyway, I love how the restaurant used an alternative cup for the halo-halo, it is more inexpensive, environmentally friendly, and it has a touch of uniqueness. That is for sure refreshing, especially since coconut is from the tree of life.
