I think that as much as me as every fan of Breaking Bad, we felt a great emptiness after finishing the series and we were like "Now what?" That was a summary of my 2022 vacation in which I made the decision to watch Breaking Bad from beginning to end, which I do not regret having done and as I said, at the end of the series I was quite cut off, not because the ending was bad but because it was very nice to see the story of Walter White on vacation and enjoy it as I had never done with another series. Fortunately, not everything was gray because the 5th season of Better Call Saul was just becoming fashionable for its memes and other references, so I had the opportunity to continue the story of Breaking Bad, although of course, it would not be the same of course, but hey! It will be worth it to know more about Saul Goodman who is undoubtedly one of the best characters of Breaking Bad. That's why today I want to talk about my first impressions with the series through this review of the first season.

The story of Saul Goodman would not be forgotten after what happened in Breaking Bad, in this case the series Better Call Saul wants to show us the story of this character but from his beginnings as a lawyer and in small parts his sad present. The famous lawyer is presented as a lawyer of little reputation for the few jobs he has done, and that the few he does not go quite right. Therefore, little by little, through a series of situations, he realizes that by making dirty moves he can profit from his work as a lawyer, and so he begins to emerge. Saul's personal life also goes through some bumps, both for his friends and his small family circle that is limited to his brother with a rather peculiar disease, in fact, we do not know our protagonist by the name of Saul since his real name is James McGill.
The first two episodes had me glued to the screen, the first one mostly because I did not know what to expect from the series in the first episode, I thought it was going to be something like the first episode of Breaking Bad but of course, I landed from that cloud in which I was in which I thought that this was really going to be a Breaking Bad 2 or something like that, of course it has a similar essence but it's not the same, although the end of the first episode and the way the second one unfolds were of great importance, they took me by surprise and I was quite surprised how the events of the first episode could go so far in the blink of an eye. Undoubtedly I enjoyed them, they were the peak of the first season in my opinion, since in my opinion the other chapters that are between the middle of the season are a little less moved of course, I do not want to say that they are bad but just as I say is mostly to introduce the characters of the series and the situation of James McGill in this new story, which are not few that we know and several of them already know and also influence this new plot.
I am honest with you that more or less for the fifth episode I had stopped watching the series for a couple of weeks due to time issues to watch the series and also because those chapters had not captured me so much, however, once I returned to see the other episodes I had regretted leaving the series, the sixth chapter is quite special for the story of one of the best characters in the series and the seventh not to mention, moreover, from these I accept that the series grabbed me again and much more than before, because there are a series of unexpected twists that leave the great opportunity to continue building the story in a great way, I mean, I'm going with my personal words to go directly to say that this part of the season I liked too much precisely because of that, that after a moment where the chapters looked a little low (from my point of view) it was great to get those moments as a bomb, and not only that, also the topics of each chapter are represented very well on screen and are not "thrown" just like that.
I'm really getting more fond of this series, I haven't seen the first episode of the second season yet just to talk about this first season and to have everything ready to receive the second season with eagerness. Although now that I think about it, I expressed myself wrong when I said that the chapters of the end of the first half of the first season were somewhat low, because they build the reputation of James as the lawyer we all know and his contribution is of great importance only that they are somewhat slow and it is something that many may like and others not so much, I would be in the middle of both sides since it is not that I disliked this part of the season. The first one is the general construction of the series, let's remember that the events of Better Call Saul happen before Breaking Bad and basically a totally new story is being made that comes before the famous series and must be built with faithful details for a good introduction of the character.
Without a doubt I liked the series, there are many other factors that I like about the series such as the characters that appear, I had already said before that there are several characters that we already know before and you could imagine from where, the aesthetics is very reminiscent of Breaking Bad but has its peculiar style that makes it different, I hope that the seasons that await me are as good as the expectations I have for them.

Creo que tanto como a mi como a todo fan de Breaking Bad, sentimos un gran vacío luego de haber finalizado la serie y ya estábamos como que ¿Ahora que? Ese fue un resumen de mis vacaciones de 2022 en la cual tome la decisión de ver Breaking Bad de principio a fin, cosa que no me arrepiento de haber hecho y que como les dije, al finalizar la serie quede bastante cortado, no porque el final haya sido malo sino porque fue muy bonito ver la historia de Walter White en vacaciones y disfrutarla como nunca había hecho con otra serie. Por fortuna, no todo era color gris ya que justo se estaba poniendo de moda la 5ta temporada de Better Call Saul por sus memes y demás referencias, así que tuve la oportunidad de continuar la historia de Breaking Bad, aunque claro, no seria lo mismo por supuesto ¡pero hey! Valdrá la pena conocer mas a Saul Goodman que sin dudas, es de los mejores personajes de Breaking Bad. Es por eso que hoy les quiero hablar de mis primeras impresiones con la serie a través de esta review de la primera temporada.

La historia de Saul Goodman no se quedaría en el olvido luego de lo sucedido en Breaking Bad, que en este caso la serie Better Call Saul nos quiere mostrar la historia de este personaje pero desde sus inicios como abogado y en pequeñas partes su triste actualidad. El famoso abogado se nos presenta como un abogado de poca reputación por los pocos trabajos que ha hecho, y que los pocos que hace no salen del todo bien. Por ende, poco a poco por una serie de situaciones se va dando cuenta que haciendo jugadas sucias puede sacar provecho de su trabajo como abogado, con lo cual empieza a surgir. La vida personal de Saul pasa por ciertos baches igualmente, tanto por sus amistados como su pequeño circulo familiar que solo se limita a su hermano con una enfermedad bastante peculiar, de hecho, no conocemos por el nombre de Saul a nuestro protagonista puesto que su nombre real es James McGill.
Los primeros dos episodios me tuvieron pegado a la pantalla, el primero mas que todo porque no sabia que esperar de la serie al primer episodio, pensaba que iba a ser algo así como el primer episodio de Breaking Bad pero claro, aterrice de esa nube en la que estaba en la cual pensaba que realmente esto iba a ser un Breaking Bad 2 o algo por el estilo, por supuesto que si tiene su esencia parecida pero no es lo mismo, aunque el final del primer episodio y el como transcurre el segundo si fueron de grandiosa importancia, me tomaron por desprevenido y me sorprendió bastante como los sucesos del primer episodio pudieron llegar tan lejos en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. Sin duda los disfrute, fueron la cumbre de la primera temporada a mi parecer, ya que bajo mi opinión los demás capítulos que están entre la mitad de la temporada son un poco menos movidos por supuesto, no quiero decir que son por ello malos pero justo como les digo es mas que todo para presentar a los personajes de la serie y la situación de James McGill en esta nueva historia, que no son pocos los que conocemos y varios de ellos ya los conocemos e influyen también en esta nueva trama.
Les soy sincero que mas o menos para el quinto episodio había dejado de ver la serie por un par de semanas por cuestiones de tiempo para ver la serie y también porque esos capítulos no me habían captado tanto, sin embargo, una vez volví para ver los demás episodios me había arrepentido de dejar la serie, el sexto capitulo es bastante especial por la historia de uno de los mejores personajes de la serie y el séptimo ni se diga, es mas, a partir de estos acepto que me volvió a agarrar la serie y mucho mas que antes, porque se dan una serie de giros inesperados que dejan la gran oportunidad de seguir construyendo la historia de gran manera, osea, ya me pongo con mis palabras personales para ir directamente diciendo que esta parte de la temporada me gusto demasiado precisamente por eso, que luego de un momento donde los capítulos se veían algo bajos (desde mi punto de vista) fue grandioso que llegaran esos momentos como bomba, y no solo eso, también los tópicos de cada capitulo se representan muy bien en pantalla y no son "lanzados" solo así como así.
De verdad le estoy agarrando mas cariño a esta serie, no he visto aun el primer episodio de la segunda temporada justo para hablar de esta primera temporada y tener todo preparado para recibir con ansias la segunda temporada. Aunque ahora que lo pienso bien, me exprese mal al decir que los capítulos de el final de la primera mitad de la primera temporada eran algo bajos, pues construyen la reputación de James como el abogado que todos conocemos y su aporte es de gran importancia solo que son algo lentos y es algo que le puede gustar a muchos y a otros no tanto, yo estaría en medio de ambos lados ya que tampoco es que me haya disgustado esta parte de la temporada. Total que la primera es la construcción en general de la serie, recordemos que los sucesos de Better Call Saul suceden antes de Breaking Bad y básicamente se esta haciendo una historia totalmente nueva que se antepone a la famosa serie y se debe construir con fieles detalles para una buena introducción del personaje.
Sin duda me ha gustado bastante la serie, hay muchos otros factores que me gustan de la serie como los personajes que aparecen, ya había dicho antes que hay varios personajes que ya conocemos antes y ya se podrían imaginar de donde, la estética recuerda mucho a Breaking Bad pero tiene su estilo peculiar que la hace diferente, espero que las temporadas que me esperan sean así de buenas como las expectativas que les tengo.

Yo terminé Breaking bad hace unos años ya y nunca tomé la decisión de ver esta aunque sabía de su existencia, pero no lo sé, no me había llamado la atención, pero con leer tu reseña me he quedado bastante curioso y parece que vale la pena verla.
Si vale la pena verla aunque claro, ten en cuenta lo que dije arriba y es que tampoco es que será un Breaking Bad 2 peeeero tiene muchos aires que le dan ese parecido, a mi me está gustando mucho la historia por el camino que va.
La serie empieza un poco lenta pero a medida que vas conectando con los personajes te atrapa mucho más, te espera un viaje fenomenal. Aunque le tengo más cariño a Breaking Bad, está me parece objetivamente superior... Está hecha con mucho más tacto.
Ya me tocará, ya incluso me dí cuenta que la primera temporada finaliza con un pie bastante firme para la segunda temporada y por ende la empezaré a ver hoy mismo, estoy emocionado. Gracias por compartir tu opinión!
BCS is such a good prequel to BB. I never like when successful shows (mostly while they still are on the air) produce an offshoot and most of those attempts thankfully tank in a season or two. But BCS was outstanding. From season 1 to season 6.

Yo también esperaba que sería algo parecido a Breaking Bad pero es realmente algo muy distinto y eso hizo que me haya gustado más. Para mí esta serie es de las mejores que ha habido, no tiene algo en lo que falle, síguela viendo y disfrútala amigo! Un saludo
