Love Is a Beautiful Thing
Hey there ,how are we doing ?? Been unavoidably absent due to certain reasons. Last weekend was my friends wedding.
She said "I Do" to the Love of her life. Her traditional wedding was on the 15th of April, it took place at her hometown, Ohafia. Wasn't able to attend the trad cause I wasn't feeling too strong( I attended virtually, via people's WhatsApp status 😊 ).
White wedding was In the city of Umuahia, she came in on Saturday morning (a day after her traditional wedding) so she could make her hair for the white wedding, pick up her wedding dress, reach the church that evening with the groom for the last counselling from the head pastor which was slated for 4:30pm.
I met with her at Umudike, she had to wait for the lady to make someone's hair before it got to her turn, it was already past 3pm, she asked me to help pick up the wedding gown , her Tiara, her robe, the robes for the bridal train etc.
I got to the woman's shop, picked them up and went straight to the hotel. Had to wait for the to return. While we were waiting for her, the ladies on the bridal train had to improvise and come up with a surprise bridal shower room the bride. They contributed money for cake, someone came with a bottle of wine and toast cups. I volunteered to help get the cake cause none of them knew there way around town and beside they needed to start dressing up.
Was able to get cake from Jovit Fast food. I droppedthe cake with the bridal train and headed straight to the brides room cause she needed me to do somethings for her. I had to rush out immediately to buy food for everyone except the bride and her makeup artist who preferred snacks.
I got to my house, packed my clothes that I would wear to church from the hotel ,bought the food and headed back to the hotel. By the time I got back the party had already started. Each one of them had written what they loved about the bride; it was a very touching moment, reading about the way you've impacted people's lives knowingly and unknowingly. She almost cried but had to save her makeup for the pictures 😃
Since I didn't write I had to come up with my own games "how well do you know the bride" asked them questions about the bride and they said correctly some they didn't. After that we ate cake, drank wine then we prayed for her and her new home.
We went to bed few minutes past midnight cause even when we retired to our room, we still kept gisting till everyone slept off.
It'sHer Day
We woke up 4am on the dot. I had my bath and prepared for church, I would attend first service then return to the hotel before they leave for church.
Before I left the bride had already started her makeup and the brides maids were getting ready. After 1st service I left church and went back to the hotel, everyone had dressed and were taking pictures. Helped the bride fix her nails , she snapped alone, with the brides maids and the with her husband before they left for church.
Their wasn't really a marriage sermon cause according to the Pastor they had been thought almost everything during the marriage class, her father handed her over, vows were exchanged, rings were worn and they headed to sign the marriage register thenthey were officially declared husband and wife.
We headed to the reception, pictures were taken , the couple danced in , we ate and drank . I had to leave immediately they danced in cause the weather wasn't friendly at all and I had to go to church immediately.
Luckily for me as soon as I got into church the rain came down. We had our Singles service and then I went home with with friend to celebrate Easter.
Had an Amazing Easter Celebration!
Hope you enjoyed yours?
