Semifinales de Champions League, partidos de ida. Esta semana se dieron los primeros encuentros que definirán a los finalistas, dos partidos que terminaron por regalarnos más de lo que podíamos esperar. Un Madrid - Bayern que fue realmente bueno, muchos goles y con cierto dominio de parte y parte, para sorpresas de mucho y el día de ayer el PSG y el Dortmund también nos brindaron un encuentro increíblemente abierto y dinámico en donde el resultado terminó favoreciendo a los alemanes pero que perfectamente pudo haber sido volteado por los parisinos o con una ventaja más amplia por parte de los locales. La verdad es que mis expectativas estaban más con el día martes pero lo de ayer fue muy grato.
Champions League semifinals, first leg matches. This week were the first matches that will define the finalists, two matches that ended up giving us more than we could have expected. A Madrid - Bayern match that was really good, many goals and with some dominance from both sides, to many surprises and yesterday PSG and Dortmund also gave us an incredibly open and dynamic match where the result ended up favoring the Germans but that could have been perfectly turned around by the Parisians or with a wider advantage by the locals. The truth is that my expectations were more with Tuesday but yesterday was very pleasant.
Hablando un poco más a profundidad de lo sucedido hace dos días tenemos a un Madrid que llegó in extremis a estas instancias mientras que el Bayern lo hizo, por lo menos para mi, de una forma más sorpresiva ya que eliminó al Arsenal, de los equipos más duros de la temporada. Lo que uno imaginaba antes de ver el partido era un juego parejo en donde el balón estuviera repartido un poco entre los medios campos de gran nombre que tienen, entonces, ¿que pasó? - pues exactamente eso. Dada la temporada que están teniendo en Alemania es muy fácil pensar que el Bayern no tenga el nivel para pelear contra un Madrid en una semifinales pero por la forma en cómo salieron a buscar el partido desde el minuto 1 nos da a entender que el hambre de ganar no la han perdido.

A pesar de esa hambre hay que decir que este Bayern es de los peores de los últimos años, aquella máquina bávara que intimidaba ya no existe, es un recuerdo lejano. Pero salieron a pelearle de tú a tú a los de Ancelotti, con presión bien alta, ahogando a los centrales con salidas rápidas por lo que Tchouaméni y el propio Kroos les costaba hilar encontrar callejones para repartir juego. Así estuvo la cosa los primeros 20 minutos y como en este deporte hay una máxima que reza: "Al que no lo hace, se lo hacen", llegaron los merengues en un destello de calidad de Toni Kroos con un pase quirúrgico a Vinicius para el 0-1. Digo la frase esa porque los alemanes tuvieron ocasiones para irse arriba pero desaprovecharon unas cuantas. A partir de acá todo cambió y el Madrid se hizo dueño del juego, se encontró más cómodo y se fue ganando al descanso.

La segunda parte fue un poco de lo mismo a la manera en como dio inicio la primera, un Bayern presionando hasta que Sané marcó el empate con un gran gol. 4 minutos después un penal de Lucas Vázquez muy claro puso el 2-1 a favor de los teutones. Pero faltando menos de 10 minutos para el final el surcoreano MinJae le hizo el favor a los blanco con una falta, también clara, para que así se empatara la cosa. Honestamente y por la forma en la que se dio el partido la eliminatoria puede inclinarse para cualquiera, capaz jugar en el Bernabéu con ese ambiente que se da en ese estadio sea un factor diferencial pero igualmente será algo muy cerrado. Aún así me voy a decantar por el Madrid, creo que estos partidos tan grandes están hechos para ellos.

Pero lo que sin duda alguna fue algo inesperado fue el partido que el PSG - Dortmund nos mostraron el día de ayer. Cero fe en este encuentro, no imaginé que un par de equipos que no son habituales en estas instancias tuvieran la capacidad de dar un buen espectáculo porque hay que decirlo, fue un gran partido de fútbol. Ambos clubes tuvieron la oportunidad de llenar la bolsa de goles pero el PSG se encontró con la pólvora mojada y el Dortmund no fue eficaz a la hora de concretar las jugadas que lograba, salvo el gol de Fullkrug, que bastó y sobró. Fue un juego de ida y vuelta que no aburrió a nadie, muy abierto, vertical, buscando espacios; teniendo en cuenta que Luis Enrique es uno de los técnicos la sorpresa fue aún más grande.

El tema es que Mbappé estuvo desaparecido, ya hay una constante en él y es que en los partidos importantes suele no aparecer cuando se le necesita, capaz lo hace la semana que viene pero ayer fue un fantasma. ¿Este PSG hubiese pasado si el Barca no se hubiese quedado con 10? - esa pregunta ya la hicimos y la respuesta es incierta pero por lo visto ayer muchos se la vuelven a hacer. A pesar de lo parejo que estuvo el encuentro si que es verdad que este equipo no se ve con papeles para lograr avanzar teniendo en cuenta lo sólido que es el Dortmund, capaz callan bocas y golean a los alemanes en París y aunque quiero que la final sea Madrid - PSG, veo al Dortmund avanzando. La forma en cómo dejaron atrás al Atlético de Madrid con semejante autoridad y buen juego para mi los hace ligeramente favoritos. Y si a eso le suman el gran estado y nivel de Brandt y Sancho, pues más sencillo todavía.

The way they left Atletico Madrid behind with such authority and good play for me makes them slight favorites. And if you add to that the great form and level of Brandt and Sancho, it's even easier.

Como digo, nada está escrito. La pelota es redonda y cualquier cosa puede suceder. Lo cierto es que estos partidos de ida fueron de bastante calidad y no espero otra cosa con los de la vuelta. Madrid - PSG es mi final por todo el morbo y tema que hay entre esos dos clubes, cualquier otra para mi será un partido de fútbol más sin absolutamente nada especial que ofrecer.
As I say, nothing is set in stone. The ball is round and anything can happen. The truth is that these first leg matches were of high quality and I do not expect anything else with the second leg. Madrid - PSG is my final for all the morbidity and theme between these two clubs, any other for me will be just another soccer match with absolutely nothing special to offer.

Realmente la Champions esta temporada ha dado buen espectáculo incluso estos partidos como el de PSG - Dortmund el cual estoy seguro nadie apostaba por el.

En lo personal me sorprendió mucho el partido de real Madrid, ya que parecía una victoria segura pero el otro equipo remontó y lograron empatar. Así que nos tocaría esperar a ver la vuelta para saber quién va a pasar a la final aunque me inclino más por el real Madrid el otro equipo también está demostrando que quiere lograrlo.
