Cowboy Bebop - See you, Space Cowboy

More than a month ago I had a marathon watching Cowboy Bebop, both the anime and the live-action made by Netflix, this was going to be a kind of shared review, making the respective comparisons, but no, it will be only the review of the anime, the review of the live-action I will do later, because although I liked it and I have good things to say, there are very specific points that I want to talk about and they will not be good at all, and that's why I will not do it in this review.

Cowboy Bebop follows the adventures of Spike Spiegle, Jet Black, Faye Valentine, and Ed, belonging to the bounty hunters who go after criminals of all kinds throughout space, because long ago the moon exploded and the earth is a graveyard of infinite meteorites that fall continuously, making life almost impossible, and thanks to humans conquering the stars, they can live on hundreds of other planets, with new species of life, but always leaving misery in their wake.

Hace ya más de un mes me di un maratón viendo Cowboy Bebop, tanto el anime, como el live action hecho por Netflix, esta iba a ser una especie de reseña compartida, haciendo las respectivas comparaciones, pero no, será solo la reseña del anime, la reseña del live action la haré después, porque a pesar de que me gustó y tengo cosas buenas que decir, hay puntos muy específicos sobre los que quiero hablar y no van a ser para nada buenos, y por eso no lo haré en esta reseña.

Cowboy Bebop sigue las aventuras de Spike Spiegle, Jet Black, Faye Valentine, y Ed, pertenecientes a los cazarrecompensas que se la pasan detrás de delincuentes de todo tipo a través de todo el espacio, pues hace mucho tiempo la luna explotó y la tierra es un cementerio de meteoritos infinitos que caen continuamente, haciendo casi imposible la vida, y gracias a que los humanos conquistaron las estrellas, son capaces de vivir en otros cientos de planetas, con nuevas especies de vidas, pero dejando siempre la miseria a su paso.

I love that it was released in '98, the year I was born, and already, one of the many such things that make me love things. The animation is perfect for the kind of story we are told, for the kind of space adventures we are going to witness, and I say it's perfect because you don't need something better, you get so immersed in everything that you don't need to want better animation to make up the story, here you don't need that, and it's a marvel I need to see more anime with that kind of animation.

I'm listening to the soundtrack while I'm writing this and the emotion takes over me without right of objection, fuck, Seatbelts did an amazing job creating this jazzy soundtrack, I love it, I love it, it's incredible, and the best thing is how perfectly they fit with the scenes in the series, and the intro is unmissable, I never gave it skip while watching the series, no need, one waits for it to enjoy it completely.

Amo que se haya estrenado en el 98, año en el que nací, y ya, una de las muchas cosas de ese tipo que me hacen querer las cosas. La animación es perfecta para el tipo de historia que nos cuentan, para el tipo de aventuras espaciales que vamos a presenciar, y digo que es perfecta porque no hace falta algo mejor, uno se sumerge tanto en todo que no es necesario querer una mejor animación que maquille la historia, aquí no es necesario eso, y es una maravilla, de hecho, me hace falta ver más animes con ese tipo de animación.

Estoy escuchando el soundtrack mientras escribo esto y la emoción se apodera de mí sin derecho a objeción, joder, Seatbelts hizo un trabajo increíble creando esta banda sonora llena de jazz, lo amo, me encanta, es increíble, y lo mejor es lo perfecto que encajan con las escenas en la serie, y el intro es imperdible, nunca le di skip mientras veía la serie, no hace falta, uno lo espera para disfrutárselo por completo.

One of my favorite things is that the villains are very well created in this series, they are not just people who decided to do bad things for fun, although some are like that, they appear so little and are so null that it is not necessary to mention them, I do it anyway; my favorite villain is the director of the association that I don't remember the name, either of her nor the association, in short, they and their group just want to stop killing an endangered species of marine animals, the white sea rat, I think, and threatens the planet where it is found with that it will return thousands of it in human evolution until all people are apes again. That was a lot of fun to watch.

My favorite villain was the one who created his religion, where he promoted the fact that humans should abandon their earthly bodies and let their minds, and their souls, be immersed in a digital world created by him, because the algorithm he had created allowed not only the mind, but the soul of people to be copied perfectly, the resolution of this part of the story was too strong, it made me cry, and it is one of the best things I have ever seen.

Una de mis cosas favoritos es que los villanos están muy bien creados en esta serie, no son solo personas que decidieron hacer cosas malas por gusto, aunque sí hay algunos que son así, pero salen tan poco y son tan nulos que no hace falta mencionarlos, igual yo lo hago; mi villana favorita es la directora de la asociación esa que no recuerdo el nombre, ni de ella ni de la asociación, en fin, ellos y su grupo solo quieren que se dejen de asesinar una especie en peligro de extinción de animales marinos, la rata marina blanca, creo, y amenaza al planeta donde se encuentra con que los va a devolver miles de ella en la evolución humana hasta que todas las personas sean simios de nuevo. Fue muy divertido ver eso.

Mi villano favorito fue el que creó su propia religión, donde promovía el hecho de que los seres humanos debían abandonar su cuerpo terrenal y dejar que sus mentes, y sus almas, se sumergieran en un mundo digital creado por él, pues el algoritmo que había creado permitía que no solo la mente, si no que el alma de las personas se copien perfectamente, la resolución de esta parte de la historia fue demasiado fuerte, me hizo llorar, y es de las mejores cosas que he visto.

As a good comedy series with a pre-established format, at times I came to expect it to be just another run of the mill, where they just go after the bad guys, chase them, fail to catch them, or manage to catch them, and so on as things get more complicated until the series ends, but no, I was completely surprised, sure, yes they go after the bad guys to collect the reward many times, but it's not just that, the way each one is affected by that is so subtle that only many chapters later we realize it.

The masterful way in which they tell the story behind each of the characters and make that story part of the series I loved it, everything happens in the middle of chaos, there are unsolved cases, they have no money, total madness, and yet everything makes sense and is perfect, something that is rarely achieved and that no one does it in the same way, besides, this series is very well done and its structure is solid, nothing can bring it down.

Como buena serie de comedia con un formato preestablecido, por momentos llegué a esperar que solo fuera algo más del montón, donde solo fueran tras los malos, los persiguieran, fracasaran en atraparlos, o lograran atraparlos, y así sucesivamente mientras las cosas se fueran complicando hasta que terminara la serie, pero no, me sorprendió por completo, claro, sí van detrás de los malos para cobrar la recompensa muchas veces, pero no es solo eso, la forma en cada uno se ve afectado por eso es tan sutil que solo muchos capítulos después nos damos cuenta.

La forma magistral en la que cuentan la historia detrás de cada uno de los personajes y hacen esa historia parte de la serie me encantó, todo sucede en medio del caos, hay casos sin resolver, no tienen dinero, una locura total, y aun así todo tiene sentido y es perfecto, cosa que pocas veces se logra y que nadie lo hace de la misma forma, además, esta serie está muy bien hecha y su estructura es sólida, nada puede derrumbarla.

One of the things that completely surprised me is the diversity that exists in the series, and I think about it and it continues to surprise me, same-sex couples, sex-workers, transgender people, and more, it was incredible; every time inclusion was present in the most natural way in the world I was excited like a little kid, I smiled until it hurt and I couldn't take it anymore. I love Cowboy Bebop.

I was going to look for the trailer, but ñe, for that reason I leave you the intro of the chapters, so you can start enjoying it because during 26 chapters you will see it, you will listen to it, and it will always make you dance. Watch Cowboy Bebop if you haven't, and if you have, don't watch the Netflix live-action or you'll hate it, I'm telling you, but that's for a next review possibly full of hate. I should have talked about Vicious too, but that goes in the other review.

Una de las cosas que me sorprendió por completo es la diversidad que existe en la serie, y lo pienso de verdad y me sigue sorprendiendo, parejas del mismo sexo, personas sexo-trabajadoras, transgéneros, y más, fue increíble; cada vez que la inclusión se hacía presente de la forma más natural del mundo me emocionaba como un niñe pequeñe, sonreía hasta que dolía y no podía más. Amo Cowboy Bebop.

Les iba a buscar el tráiler, pero ñe, por esa razón les dejo el intro de los capítulos, para que comiencen a disfrutarlo, pues durante 26 capítulos lo van a ver, lo van a escuchar, y les va a provocar bailar siempre. Vean Cowboy Bebop si no lo han hecho, y si lo hicieron, no vean el live action de Netflix o lo van a odiar, se los digo, pero eso ya queda para una siguiente reseña posiblemente llena de odio. Tuve que haber hablado de Vicious también, pero eso va en la otra reseña.
