Today, I want to share my latest fan art.
I decided to create Zappit as a human. You could see the reference image right 👉here

I could do it a male human but I choose to make it a female cause I believed in woman empowerment. Salute to all females out there😌 I imagine her to be a fighter type and so I designed her with boxing gloves that has sparks of lightning. I hope you like it😁

Let's dive in to the process🎨

Art Process

First, I focus on creating the character and do a rough sketch for the pose. When doing the pose I keep it lose within the strokes and adjust accordingly to what fit most. She is raising her gloves to give it a pose of ready to fight and I continue to the next step.

The second image is where I do the clean line art. Like a tracing paper I add another layer on top of the rough sketch while decreasing the opacity of it. That way I could do better line quality on top of it.

In here, I started to added the base colors of each parts of the character. Starting with the facial features. I love that carrot earrings there😁

Next is adding her rabbit ears like hair.

Then I added the color of the gloves.

✨✨✨

Lastly, adding the outfit for final base colors.

✨✨✨

Then I add the shadows of the character. I add a layer on top of base colors and set the layer to multiply blending mode.

Then I add the highlights with an Overlay blending mode for the layer.

✨✨✨

Then add some reflected lights to the eyes, nose, gloves and outfit.

✨✨✨

In here I color the outlines to add some style and not just color black.

Then, I add the zap of lightning to her boxing gloves.

Final Artwork

Final step to my process is adding the background. I design it like a lightning form😁
