Today, I want to share my latest fan art.
I decided to create a young version of the Ocean Female Healer, you could see the reference image right 👉here (credit to the holozing artist @craizuss).

I absolutely have fun on creating this piece. Hope you like it😁
Let's dive in to the process🎨

Art Process

First, I did a rough sketch. I imagine a sky background with an ocean forming a round wave.

The second image is where I do the clean line art. Like a tracing paper I add another layer on top of the rough sketch while decreasing the opacity of it. That way I could do better line quality on top of it. Adjusting the sizes of each images.

In here, I added the base color of every parts of the character.
Base colors are basically flat colors. The main color of the object.

In the next image, I did the background first since it is just and abstract paint of sky and the ocean.

In here, I put all my shadows. I usually set my shadows to multiply layer mode.

I add the highlights. I setup two highlights first it is set to overlay mode. Choose color white and brush in the parts where light hits. Lower the opacity. Add another layer just set to normal mode and brush in another white highlight where strong light hits just like in hair and eyes. I also add pupil in the eyes of the Ocean Healer.

In here I add some white splash of water and reflected lights. Also, I create a mask in the Waller and brush in black color to erase some parts of its body.

In the next image, I adjust the roundness of the sides. Also move and rotate the character to balance the spaces inside the round frame.

Final Artwork

Final step to my process is adjusting the color balance. I lean towards blues for midtones, shadows and highlights. Also the HOLOZING word logo for final touch.😁
