Choujin X: A worthy successor to tokyo ghoul? [ENG/ESP]

Hello to all the community of The Anime Realm, these days I have taken the opportunity to catch up with some of the manga that I had on my list of pending to read and I had one very much waiting because they had not released many chapters yet and is that the master Shui Ishida had a work with enough desire to read because after Tokyo Ghoul (and an end that personally I did not like so much) I was eager to see what could bring this great mangaka without living behind the shadow of his greatest success, so without further ado let's start with the post.

Choujin X starts off rather slowly showing us what we would think of as two main characters, the first being an athletic boy with good grades and great social skills named Azuma Higashi (which shares a strong resemblance to Kishou Arima from Tokyo Ghoul, even with certain aspects of his personality reflected in this new character) and Tokio Kurohara (having a resemblance to Ken Kaneki and also with some aspects of his personality) which literally would be the opposite of Azuma being a young man brought, with low grades and virtually no social skills or friends except the same Azuma with whom he shares a bond of friendship for many years.

As the chapters go by we see that we will focus more on Tokyo and his way of seeing Azuma more than as a friend, rather as an idol since in many cases he wonders what his friend would do in his place which makes a little clear his idolatry to this one, in addition it is explained to us what the Choujin would be and is that these are humans with special abilities, being these practically super powers, and because of these they have caused many havoc worldwide, coming to need to be regulated and destruction in its path (since some not yet control their powers are only led by their instincts).

Due to the Choujin without regulation and the way of being of both protagonists, in a moment of the story they will be attacked by one of these beings, and when Azuma is injured and Tokio sees two injections with the capacity to turn them into Choujin, he decides to inject both of them in order to face the enemy together, but the big surprise is that the only one who will manifest a mutation will be Tokio and this is who decides to face (thought as Azuma would do) this threat.

Something that is not very clear to us with the advance of the work but that is understood, is that the powers of the Choujin is linked to their strongest thoughts or desires and seeing the transformation of Tokyo this is confirmed, since he considers the Vulture as his favorite animal not so much for his physical but for his abilities. I must also admit that this transformation is visually very cool and also brings back memories of Tokyo Ghoul, as well as the aesthetics of some villains reminds us of the Kakuja of this work.

I must say that despite being a work that still does not reach 20 chapters, it has been really something very interesting to read, having really epic moments, and coming to consider it as a work that could easily rival Tokyo Ghoul, I hope to continue watching the development of this work and see how Sensei Ishida will finish this manga, without more to add I hope you read it and we will see each other in another opportunity.

Hola a toda la comunidad de The Anime Realm, estos días he aprovechado para ponerme al corriente con algunos de los mangas que tenía en mi lista de pendientes por leer y tenía uno muy a la espera debido a que no habían sacado muchos capítulos aún y es que del maestro Shui Ishida tenía una obra con bastantes ganas de leer ya que luego de Tokyo Ghoul (y un final que en lo personal no me gustó tanto) tenía muchas ganas de ver qué podría traernos este genial mangaka sin vivir tras la sombra de su mayor éxito, así que sin más que agregar empecemos con el post.

Choujin X empieza de manera bastante lenta mostrándonos lo que pensaríamos que son dos protagonistas, siendo el primero un chico atlético, con buenas notas y grandes habilidades sociales llamado Azuma Higashi (el cual comparte un gran parecido con Kishou Arima de Tokyo Ghoul, inclusive con ciertos aspectos de su personalidad reflejados en este nuevo personaje) y a Tokio Kurohara (teniendo este un parecido con Ken Kaneki y también con algunos aspectos de su personalidad) lo que literal sería todo lo contrario a Azuma siendo este un joven traído, con bajas calificaciones y prácticamente sin habilidades sociales ni amigos excepto el mismo Azuma con el que comparte un vínculo de amistad desde hace muchos años.

Con el pasar de los capítulos vemos que nos centraremos más en Tokio y su forma de ver a Azuma más que como un amigo, más bien como un ídolo ya que en muchos casos se pregunta que haría su amigo en su lugar lo cual deja un poco claro su idolatría a este, además se nos va explicando lo que serían los Choujin y es que estos son humanos con habilidades especiales, siendo estás prácticamente super poderes, y debido a estás han causado muchos estragos a nivel mundial, llegando a necesitar estar regulados y destrucción a su paso (ya que algunos al no controlar aún sus poderes son solo llevados por sus instintos).

Debido a los Choujin sin regulación y a la forma de ser de ambos protagonistas, en un momento de la historia se verán atacados por uno de estos seres, y al resultar Azuma herido y Tokio viendo dos inyecciones con la capacidad de volverlos Choujin, este decide inyectar a ambos para así poderle hacer frente juntos al enemigo, pero la gran sorpresa es que el único que manifestará una mutación será Tokio y este es que decide enfrentar (pensado como lo haría Azuma) a esta amenaza.

Algo que se no nos queda muy claro con el avance de la obra pero que se logra entender, es que los poderes de los Choujin está ligado a sus pensamientos más fuertes o deseos y al ver la transformación de Tokio esto queda confirmado, ya que este considera al Buitre como su animal favorito no tanto por su físico sino por sus habilidades. Además debo admitir que está transformación visualmente es muy genial y nos trae también recuerdos de Tokyo Ghoul, así como también la estética de algunos villanos nos recuerda a los Kakuja de esta obra.

Debo decir que a pesar de ser una obra que todavía no llega a los 20 capítulos, ha sido realmente algo muy interesante de leer, teniendo momentos realmente épicos, y llegando a considerarlo como una obra que podría rivalizar con Tokyo Ghoul fácilmente, espero seguir viendo el desarrollo de esta obra y ver como el Sensei Ishida finalizara esté manga, sin más que agregar espero que lo lean y nos veremos en otra oportunidad.
