The Balik Bayan Box Is Now Filled

It is still like Christmas here in the house as we are all busy doing what was supposed to be during the season. The kids were busy completing their own ginger bread houses. We can do stuff like this only on weekends when everyone is not busy.

I guess the kids are no longer interested to finish the houses as you can see they did them hastily. I think that anticipation they had during Christmas season does not sit well now that it is already over. For me, I am still on it and still feeling the vibe. That is how most Filipinos I know are.

Still looks festive especially the lights on the roof. They look sweet and yummy. I can tell that my daughter had fun building this on her own. She is the most creative in the family.

While the kids were busy trying to finish their own ginger bread house, I was sorting packages like Santa hahaha in this corner of the house. We have our own spots. Here the balik bayan box that I posted on my last blog is already filled. Most are requests that were sent online on our little group chat.

My family loves these Canelitas biscuits. They do not have these in the Philippines I suppose or maybe these are not that easy to find. When they had a taste of this biscuits, the Canelitas had been their favorite. Just a simple kind of biscuit with a hint of cinnamon I guess. I also love these as they can go well with any drink of my choice like a hot cup of coffee.

Now that the important items are sorted and packed I just filled the box with more candies and other food items. There are still some requests from my family coming on my instant messenger and will probably buy them so I can finally seal and deliver this balik bayan box.

The Christmas season may be over but for me and my family the spirit of it lives longer. Not only us but most Filipinos I know are also kind of the same. Indeed we celebrate it the longest in the world. You could never have too much of a season that brings the family together. A season that is about love, warmth and giving etc.
