A PSA : Look up for the Air Drops JAN.6
Hello Crypto friends.
January 6th is just a day away, so it is important to take note of a few things. What are these things you ask? Well dear friend, Air Drops are coming to you if you hold liquid or staked HIVE.
Chances are good you already know what they are. However, if not, this is a PSA JUST for you. Let's review some details and talk about what's going on.
I will also drop the disclaimer, that all the information in this article is what I know, it may not be 100% correct, so do your own research as well.
Let's first talk about basics and some terms.
What is an airdrop?
An airdrop is the act of giving away free digital or physical products to people without expecting anything in return. Airdrops are usually done by Blockchain-based organizations to help promote their project. Most times, all you need to do is log in and claim your air drops.
What is a snapshot?
This is another term you will read in the post. A Snapshot is a record of an account balance on a set date and time. Think of it like a photograph taken of your wallet.
In this case, the snapshot will happen (*At least as I understand it), on the total HIVE wallet balance, on your staked and liquid HIVE, that is IN your account on January 6th. So, if you have HIVE on Binance or Bitrex or another exchange, you may need to port it over to HIVE for the snapshot date.
I highly doubt that any major exchanges will distribute the tokens to you, so be safe and send your HIVE to your account for the day.
What's dropping on HIVE on the 6th?
Two great projects are coming that could shake up HIVE and bring in some explosive growth.
SPK Network | LARYNX Miner Claim drop

January 6th, 2022 at midnight PST. Based on your HIVE (Staked and Liquid), you will get a 1:1 air drop of the `LARYNX Miner' token.
Once a month, you will need to log into the desktop SPK app to claim the tokens. This airdrop will run for 1 year, so each month you will have 30 days to make your claim. So, 12 potential claims.
I assume if you had 12,000 HIVE on the 6th, you could claim 1000 LARYNX Miner tokes a month for 12 months.

Ragnarok NFT CardGame
January 6th, 2022 at midnight PST. Based on your HIVE (Staked and Liquid), you will get NFT cards for this game.
I have read some mixed messages if the airdrop based on every 10 HIVE or every 100 HIVE you hold would equate to 1 NFT card in the game, or another, but no matter, holding more HIVE equates to you getting more cards.
The claim date for this airdrop, and HOW to claim it, is at this time, "TBD". However, the snapshot is happening on the 6th as well.

Should you make the effort to stack up HIVE for the 6th?
While this is NOT financial advice and absolutely just my option, I think yes!
Reasons :
- HIVE is a gem that is not discovered when games like this drop and networks like SPK are born, eye take a look.
- NFT Games are big now, and this has the potential to shake up the NFT game market like AXIE did.
- Sending HIVE around is cheap to do and fast, so why not dump it on to the platform on the 6th, then on the 7th take it back off.
- Read this article HERE by the epic dude : @daltono for a trip into what 2022 could be for HIVE.
There are many other reasons as well. Just look at the initial cost of Splinterlands cards, and where they are today. The amount of effort needed, and the pay-off is, again, in my option, greatly slanted towards a profitable adventure.

The question to me is how much CAN I stack by the 6th? I've been swapping all of my HBD for HIVE in preparation for these airdrops. I know the SPK and Ragnarok teams(s) are not playing around. Once these things are out there, I feel strongly that there is going to be some heavy interest, not just from current Hive users. Video hosting and NFT/P2E Gaming are both huge right now and new options draw a lot of attention. Especially ones this well thought out and planned. SPK and Ragnarok are not just coming out of nowhere.
Also, thanks a lot for mentioning my article. If you can't tell already, I'm incredibly optimistic in regards to the future of Hive and a lot of projects being built over here. It often takes a lot to make me happy and Hive is already satisfying many of my needs, with even more to come no doubt.

I do believe that the airdropped coming up will be quite extensive and amazing. I think I moved all the hive I can into my account at this time, and now just have to wait. But if I had other tokens move around I probably would this point.
I was talking on the discord about the SPK drop, It looks like there are two options for the LARYNX Miner Token.
Kinda hard to speculate on where the value of these tokens land and what is better... short-term and long-term outcomes will be for them vs holding HIVE. Either way it's an exciting time to be on the block chain. Hahaha.
On a personal note, big fan of your work on the crazy graphics you use in your posts. Question, do you use D.Buzz?

What you bring up about will be the best thing to do with the airdrop is pretty interesting. It is a tough call. On one hand, I know that SPK is going to be successful, just might take a while. On the other hand, it would be nice to make some juicy profits off of an airdrop. Maybe going half in one direction in half in the other would work. Hard to say, I'm watching though.

I think you and I are thinking along the same path. But for now I'm adopted a "lets wait-and-see" attitude towards the airdrop.
I asked you about D.Buzz as I am the manager of the project. I'm curious about why some people use it, and why some people don't. You seem like a pretty prolific blogger and influencer. Personally, I would love to have you rocking and rolling on D.Buzz... so I am curious about how we can shape this platform to better accommodate your needs as a content creator, or if it is just short form is not your cup of tea I understand.
The times that I have used D.Buzz I have really enjoyed my experience.
I really don't find myself wanting to do short-form content very often. That is pretty much what it comes down to for me. I spend so much time on my longer posts and videos that I do not often stop to say something short and sweet. I only use Twitter to share links to my posts and sometimes keep up with some news here and there. If it weren't for that I wouldn't use that app.
About the only things I can think of is if there was an app for my iPhone, one that pushed notifications to me, maybe I'd get on D.Buzz more. Even then, I am so obsessive about my posts/blog organization that I sometimes refrain from sending out a Buzz since it throws a wrench in my list of longer posts.
About the only other thing, I think that could change my frequency of use more is if, on interfaces such PeakD, Ecency, etc, there was another section on our profiles for only posts from D.Buzz. From what I've gathered, that wouldn't very easy to implement, not sure if it is impossible though. Basically making sure that my Buzz doesn't mix in with my posts. I know we already can keep it off of my blog, but I don't see how it can be outside of posts. Really I just crave better organization of all of my content in all aspects, not even just with D.Buzz. As it stands, it is very hard for people to see my previous work unless they happen to use the search bar or look through a specific tag.
Not sure if all of my thoughts help or just make things seem more confusing. The main reason I am not on D.Buzz a ton is simply due to my lack of care for shorter content.

Personally, I have a second account that I use for my post to D.Buzz as well (@roamingsparrow), I try to keep that site updated with just pictures I take here and there while traveling or cool things I see. I am debating using it as a second form of syndication for my main posts to make content shout-outs to my longer form content, with the goal of reaching a larger audience.
Yes, this is something that we are working to address, and hopefully this year we will be able to roll out a solution for it, fingers crossed on that one.

I hear you about not being a gamer, but just holding and speculating on the NFT value over time could be worth it financially as well, just look at the explosive value of Splinterlands over time.
