Acraea terpsicore, also known as Tawny Coster, is a beautiful butterfly species found in various regions in Africa and Asia. This butterfly belongs to the Nymphalidae family and is known for its striking orange and black colors. One of the most distinctive features of Acraea terpsicore is its bright orange wings with black outlines and patterns. Its wingspan ranges from 45 to 55 millimeters, making it a medium-sized butterfly. The Tawny Coster is a fast and agile flyer, often flying around flowers and feeding on nectar. Acraea terpsicore undergoes complete metamorphosis, starting from eggs laid by female butterflies on host plants. Caterpillars hatch from eggs and feed on leaves before forming cocoons. After some time, the adult butterfly emerges from its cocoon, ready to begin its new life cycle.
