Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge: DRAGONS

For this post, I wanna showcase my battle using one of my favorite summoners DELWYN DRAGONSCALE and the new Legendary Chaos Legion Dragon Splinter CHAOS DRAGON.

I think they are a good combo since DELWYN DRAGONSCALE has +Magic, and CHAOS DRAGON can appreciate that +Magic damage a lot!

First I want to show you feature the Lore of these splinters.

Lore:

Some time ago, Daria Dragonscale nearly lost her twin brother Delwyn to the Burn that had stricken so many of the scaled. She would have lost him completely, but at his deathbed, she hired the services of a dark sorcerer who transferred his soul into a special Heliosoulstone. While he was suspended inside the stone, Daria traveled to the Earth Splinter, where she visited the Flesh Golems in the root of the Elder Tree. With their help, she created a new Golem from fleshy scraps. Delwyn’s soul was transferred into the new Golem, and Daria had her brother back… forever.

Lore:

The Chaos Realm has preyed upon many a world, opening rifts in time and space to invade the lands and take from its people. When they attacked Praetoria and the Splinterlands, it was first thought that the minions were compelled through the portal for their fear of the dark shade that lurked beyond the gate, the shadowed image of Uul. Eventually though, when the last of the armies stepped through, there came such a prodigious monster that at first, none could believe it was real. A nightmare dragged forth into reality.

As it flew through the spinning vortex, the Chaos Dragon let forth a violent shriek, so loud that it was felt in the far reaches of every Splinter. The people of Praetoria fell to their knees, terror taking the strength from their legs and the courage from their hearts. For an army of monsters can be fought, the land defended with righteous fervor. But when even the invading hordes are fleeing before such a beast, what hope can there be? The answer is none when the eater of worlds has arrived, the true devourer of existence.

Surely such a thing couldn’t be the puppet of Uul? How could anyone command a creature that has flown from one cosmos to another, feeding upon alien planets? But it was his most potent being, one that existed before time had conceived the very gift of life itself.

Now we can move on to the battle.

Ruleset:
50 Mana
Holy Protection: All Monster have the Divine Shield Ability
Spreading Fury: All Monster have the Enrage Ability
Available Splinters: Earth, Life, Death, and DRAGON

I have chosen DRAGON mainly because I wanted to try my new Chaos Dragon which I got from my Chaos Legion Pack, and synergize Delwyn and Chaos Dragon with some Magic Monsters from Life Deck, and the Pelacor Arbalest, which I believe is a killer!

Lineup Summary:

Tank: Legionnaire Alvar, Another Legendary which I really feel is a must-have in your deck. I put this as a tank since I am anticipating that he is gonna go earth and SPAM magic, that is why I also made heavy magic damage on my end too with a great magic tank with Void Armor. (decent tank against range and melee with 8 armor)
Ability:
Void Armor: Magic attacks hit this Monsters' Armor before its health.

The Chaos Legionnaires are ruthless warriors and the Chaos Legion's elite fighting force. Alvar Veralyn was conscripted into their ranks at a young age after his family was slain and his world conquered by the Chaos Legion. The harsh conditioning that all conscripts receive nearly broke the child, but in the end, his old, easy way of life was subsumed by the desire for battle and conquest. Alvar dedicated himself to his training, intent on reshaping his mind and his body until he had no equal on the battlefield. Eventually, he rose to the rank of General and now stands as leader of the Chaos Legionnaires.

Alvar is a most imposing sight on the battlefield. His armor is imbued to withstand the strongest of magical attacks, and even the mightiest of foes is no match for his massive, two-handed sword, which some say was forged in the Realm of Nightmare. He lives for battle, wading through his enemies and striking them down as he seeks out the strongest among them to engage in single combat. He enjoys nothing more than watching the life fade from his opponent's eyes. His conquests are legendary even among the Legionnaires, and he earned the title of Godkiller after the Battle of Dargnilat, during which he single-handedly defeated one of the Old Gods.

2nd position is the Temple Priest, I put it in there to take damage from snipe, I would be willing to sacrifice him more than the Time Mage

Only the most advanced Priests of the Silver Shield have earned the power to commune with the goddess Khymia in her great Temple in the clouds. They are never the strongest among Khymian warriors, nor do they carry the greatest magical powers, but their visions and messages from the goddess determine the direction of an entire people, and sometimes the fate of the whole Splinterlands. The Priests’ communions with Khymia take place through complex rituals of astral travel, and some of these Priests are able to relocate their physical bodies anywhere in the Splinterlands in a form of teleportation. High Temple Priests do not fight, but because essence combat is not forbidden by Khymia’s doctrines, many of them allow themselves to be summoned to tournament battle.

3rd position is a new Chaos Legion Card, Time Priest which gives you "Slow" ability, it reduces the speed of all enemy monsters by 1.

Time Mages are members of the Order of the Silver Shield and close associates of the Wizards' Council. They are trusted to peer through the fabric of time and reality to foretell the future or manipulate the present by slowing the flow of time. They can also speed up the aging process of armor, causing it to rust prematurely.

However, with such power also comes great risk. The future is ever-changing, and the ripples of time can affect everyone. Time Mages must undergo strict training to ensure they don't abuse their power and use it only for the most dire of circumstances.

4th position is Djinn Renova, which gives my team Strengthen: (All Friendly Monsters have increased Health)

Dawn of the Djinn 2 of 4 - Once the fifth mana gate was unlocked, the Planet knew that Mount Praetorus in the Splinterlands must be protected. The sixth and final mana gate was now all that prevented the dreaded Chaos Legion from conquering the world. The Planet had some tricks up its sleeve and plenty of magic of its own, so it took action. Calling to each of the trapped Belludae souls throughout the world, the Planet extended them an offer of freedom. None of them refused the offer.

The Planet used its delicate but powerful forces to destroy each enchanted vessel that contained the trapped Belludae souls. Then as they were going free, the Planet ensnared each of them into a new type of confinement. They were each trapped by one of the magical elements, unable to change physical forms or leave the territory of their element. With each of the Belludae a deal was struck. They would henceforth be called Djinn, and their service would be complete once the Planet was free of destruction at the hands of the Chaos Legion.

5th position is the Pelacor Arbalest (the bomb, the killer, the next big thing), I really love this card, especially if he is used with the new summoner with +1 range, but even though without plus range, I think 2 Range Damage is pretty good and he could hit twice so it would make it 4 basically.
(Ability: Double Strike; Monster attacks twice each round)

Pelacor Arbalests are armed with powerful crossbows enchanted to fire bolts at extremely long distances. They are trained to wield a crossbow in each hand and can fire both simultaneously with deadly accuracy. Compounded with the Pelacor's excellent eyesight and nimble dexterity, these sharpshooters are extremely useful as snipers on the battlefield.

Last but not least! Void Dragon, I put it in the last position to have some defense against sneak, in case the enemy goes sneaking on me, with 4 Armor, 10 HP, Flying Ability, and Holy Protection, he is definitely a beast backline tank on this match.
Abilities:
Flying: Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Range attacks from Monsters who do not have Flying Ability.
Scattershot: This Monster's attacks hit a random enemy target.

Round 1: I have already killed his taunt card, which is kind of a good card if you are running Earth Magic Lineup!

Start of Round 2:

So he managed to break the armor of my tank, but luckily I have used Legionnaire Alvar if I could have chosen another tank without the Void Armor ability it could have been long gone by now.

At the end of Round 2, he manage to take down my tank, though I also took down his frontline, which has the Thorns ability.
Thorns: When hit with a melee attack does damage back to the attacker

Start of round 3, this is kind of tricky and interesting since his tank got the Void ability while my lineup is running mostly Magic.
Void: Reduced Damage from Magic Attacks

At the start of round 3, the Unicorn Mustang easily killed my Temple priest, so I was beginning to think that I might be losing the match, but fortunately, Scattershot from Chaos Dragon come in handy and sniped the enemy healer. (I am really optimistic about this ability) so his mustang was not healed on this round and I thought that I can definitely take it down on the next round.

Start of round 4, and it is not looking good for both of us. But I am pretty much knew that Chaos Dragon will win me the match with that 4 armor and 11 HP, is the strongest Monster in the field right now.

And so, my Djinn Renova was killed, and I am now depending on my Chaos Dragon. Since at this moment Pelacor Arbalest is just a meat shield at this point.

This is is what it looks like at the end of the round.

Round 5, Once my Pelacor Arbalest is dead I only have my Chaos Dragon Left, and though it killed the Unicorn Mustang. So I am not too worried now.

As you can see in this photo his monsters do not have enough damage to kill my Chaos Dragon, that armor and HP are so helpful!

Round 6, I even got misses from his Goblin Tower, with 5 Speed, it made it more clear that I am the winner of this match.

Round 7, Round 8, and Round 9, he has no way to attack me anymore so the victory is secured. I think there is no need for a picture of what happened next 🤣

I really think, that clutch Scattershot to the enemy healer is what won me the game, if that guy has healed the Unicorn Mustang one more time, I will surely lose the battle.
