Procida Summer Recap! [ENG/ITA]

Hi all Hivers! How are you all doing? I know, I know...I always say to come back but then I disappear into thin air again and again. I try to promise you that this time it will not be like that, I have so much to tell you and I need to write it down.

This summer, after graduation, has been peculiar. I worked, both at the bar and on my own for some doctoral applications that, spoiler, did not go well. But I would like to tell you about that in another post. So let's go in order.

After graduation I spent a few days in Procida!
If you don't know where Procida is, well, I'll tell you right now :)

Procida is a beautiful and very cute island in the province of Naples, Campania, Southern Italy. What an excellent explanation, but it's not like we are on wikipedia lol

To get to Procida from Naples you have to cross the sea, it happens to be an island.... whatever, so I was saying...either by hydrofoil or ferry, or I guess by other boats that I am not aware of. On the outward journey I used the hydrofoil, which is faster, it took me about 40 minutes, but it is very small and unstable so if you suffer from the sea, it's bitter cabbage. Fortunately I don't have any of these problems, so great. On the way back I took the ferry, giant, stable, beautiful, but slow. It took over an hour to get back, in fact.

That said, I had a really peaceful weekend. I completely relaxed. I toured the beaches on the island, because I don't like to see just one. I changed two a day, if I wanted to you could also do the third one but it was still a vacation so I desisted. For me the best beach is the so-called "del Postino" beach, named after Massimo Troisi's "Il Postino" movie of the same name, which was filmed right there. But there are also other wonderful beaches.

Sore note, the crazy prices of restaurants, obviously being an international tourist destination, Procida is taken by storm by tourists from all over. And the prices are high for what the locals offer. The first night, in a party mood, I took two spritzes to take away, the quantity of the glass, which was a 0.2 cl, was very minimal. Nevertheless, I settle for it and settle down to pay. 14 euros, fine.

However, if you pay attention and avoid tourist traps, you can find bars and restaurants that offer excellent value for money. And indeed I lived like that.
The B&B was really nice, equipped with every comfort and the very kind owner, who let us taste, at breakfast, our first "Procida tongue," a very good dessert filled with lemon custard. Surely the sweet owner of the accommodation helped spark my addiction to Procida tongues, and in fact I abused them. I must have eaten 10 of them in three days. But that's okay, who cares. Delicious.

Ciao a tutti Hivers! Come state? Lo so, lo so... dico sempre di ritornare ma poi sparisco nel nulla ancora e ancora. Provo a promettervi che questa volta non sarà così, ho tante cose da raccontarvi e necessito di scriverle.

Quest'estate, dopo la laurea, è stata particolare. Ho lavorato, sia al bar che per conto mio per alcune domande di dottorato che, spoiler, non sono andate bene. Ma di questo vorrei parlarvene in un altro post. Per cui andiamo in ordine.

Dopo la laurea ho trascorso qualche giorno a Procida!
Se non sapete dove sia Procida, beh, ve lo spiego subito :)

Procida è una splendida e carinissima isola nella provincia di Napoli, in Campania, Sud Italia. Che spiegazione eccellente, ma non siamo mica su wikipedia lol

Per arrivare a Procida da Napoli si deve attraversare il mare, guarda caso è un'isola... va beh, quindi dicevo... o con l'aliscafo o con il traghetto, o credo con altre imbarcazioni di cui non sono a conoscenza. All'andata ho utilizzato l'aliscafo, che è più veloce, ho impiegato circa 40 minuti, ma è molto piccolo ed instabile quindi se si soffre il mare sono cavoli amari. Per fortuna non ho di questi problemi, per cui alla grande. Al ritorno ho preso il traghetto, gigantesco, stabile, bellissimo, ma lento. Ci è voluto più di un'ora per il ritorno, infatti.

Detto ciò, ho trascorso un weekend davvero sereno. Mi sono completamente rilassato. Ho girato le spiagge dell'isola, perchè non mi piace vederne soltanto una. Ne cambiavo due al giorno, volendo si poteva fare anche la terza ma era pur sempre una vacanza quindi ho desistito. Per me la spiaggia migliore è quella cosidetta "del Postino", che prende il nome dall'omonimo fil "Il Postino" di Massimo Troisi che fu girato proprio lì. Ma ci sono anche altre spiagge meravigliose.

Nota dolente, i prezzi folli dei ristoranti, ovviamente essendo una meta turistica internazionale, Procida è presa d'assalto da turisti proveniente da ogni dove. E i prezzi sono altini per quello che i locali offrono. La prima sera, in vena di fare festa, presi due spritz da asporto, la quantità del bicchiere, che era uno 0,2 cl, era davvero minima. Tuttavia, mi accontento e mi accingo a pagare. 14 euro, benissimo.

Tuttavia, se si presta attenzione e si evitano le trappole per turisti, si riescono a trovare bar e ristoranti che offrono un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. E infatti ho campato così.

Il B&B era davvero bello, dotato di ogni comfort e la proprietaria gentilissima, che ci ha fatto assaggiare, a colazione, la nostra prima "lingua di Procida", un dolce buonissimo ripieno di crema pasticciera al limone. Sicuramente la dolce proprietaria della struttura ricettiva a aiutato a far nascere in me la mia dipendenza verso le lingue di Procida, e infatti ne ho abusato. Ne avrò mangiato 10 in 3 giorni. Ma va bene così, chi se ne frega. Buonissime.
