Cement bag sewing of dressess help new apprentice to grow in sewing. Cement bag sewing of dresses are for practice on how to sew dresses with fabrics materials. Apprentice sew dresses with empty cement bag before they will be allowed to sew with fabrics. They follow the steps to avoid mistakes using fabrics. Apprentice can only make use of needle for sewing dresses with use of cement bag. If an apprentice decide to use sewing machine, needles will keep breaking.

Going into sewing, no madam will encourage or advice an apprentice to start to use fabrics for sewing of dresses. Apprentice finds if difficult sewing with use of an empty cement bag because if paraventure there's a mistake dictated, madam who's in charge will demand for lossing of all sewn by an apprentice. Apprentice most times get injured with needles at stage of sewing. All difficulties sometimes contributed why some apprentice develop fear for sewing or tailoring.

Sewing with empty cement bag

Remember baby gathers are not usually sewn with armpit that's why we normally use kpof hand for it.

Cutting

Spreading the empty bag of cement is what we usually do first.

Take your tape, scissors, and white chalk, measure out half length front of baby gathers dress from empty cement bag. Measuring out, length 5, side 5, down neck 2, up neck 1. Done cutting front of the dress measurements, place them on a different empty cement bag and 2 inches space for zip allowance, back up neck 1, down neck 1, cut them out. Get a different empty cement bag cut out the facing of the dress by placing half of the baby gathers.

Sewing

To sew a baby gathers with empty cement bag, you'll sew the facing with the half length of the front and back with needle and thread. Turn it and join front and back shoulder. Then keep it one side.

Bring empty cement bag, cut into two. Take one from the cement we cut and cut again, remember they must be equal. Take the first empty we cut and fold to sew. Sew the up and draw it. This will give us the gathers. The same thing will be done to the back to get another gathers. Give 1 inch space and the join the gathers front with the half length and do the same to the back. Sew the down. Put zip. Why sewing the down is for the zip to relax.

Remember gathers doesn't have armpit. Measure 5 for the up hand while the round sleve is supposed to be 6 but because it doesn't have armpit, we have to take the whole empty cement bag and cut it out. Sew the down sleve, then sew the up and why sewing make sure you're going with your printing and then sew.
