I just saw the Mountain Photography contest by Photofeed, and noticed that many Hive friends have been posting photos via Liketu, which I followed a few years ago. So now I'm posting some of my mountain photos via Liketu for the first time, hopefully it will work! =)

The magnificent mountains you see here are part of the Yellow Mountains in East China. I took these photos at sunrise when they were bathing in the beautiful morning rays. I stood at the mountain top, shivering in the cold wind, trying to hold my camera steadily with stiff hands, and was totally mesmerised by this dreamy sight.

The gentle sunlight casting into the granite rocks and pine trees looked so captivating, and the colour tone turned warmer and warmer as the sun rose higher and higher. It was early autumn, so the green foliages started to be tinted with a dash of orange, adding rich layers to the whole scene.

The Yellow Mountains Pine trees here are native species growing in high altitudes on steep rocks. From my photos here, you can see a small pine tree stretching out on top of a granite column. It is called "a flower blossoming on the tip of a magic brush". If you understand Chinese, the original name of it sounds more poetic (see my post title in Chinese). :)

The fine-grained granites were formed about 128 million years ago. They weathered into a column under the influence of two vertical joints, and was shaped like a brush because of the horizontal joint. The pine tree growing out of the cracks makes it a noticeable sight in Yellow Mountains.

Yeah, Liketu looks pretty cool. The Yellow Mountains does look yellow in sunrise, :) and legend has it that it's named after the Yellow Emperor, a mythological ancestor of the Han Chinese.

i read that the colour yellow represented the earth phase, the yellow dragon and the centre... i think the landscape looks like dragons could have been living in caves here in the mountains;)
