A Perfectly Uncomplicated Day

It's easy for me to have a perfect day since I'm not a complicated person.

First off I would love for my perfect day to begin with real prayers and not mumbling words sleepily or hurrying over the prayer to fulfill self-righteousness when I am starting my day late. Then after that, I would totally love to either start reading a new novel or complete the one I have been reading. That would go on for an hour before I would rise to sit on the workspace I created for myself.

I would love for the power to come on at that moment before I get in front of my laptop because my laptop battery is weak now and can last for just an hour. If the power comes on that morning, I would put on my anti-blue light glasses and plug my laptop to light then try to get as much work done as possible.

By 10 am, my stomach should be rumbling already. I would love to have something light like cereal or noodles so that I don't get sleepy and then return to my laptop to continue with work.

After working for about 4 hours, (I know that I can get a lot of work done within that short time), I would love to return to my bed and either take a nap or see a movie on Netflix. I only sleep in the afternoon when I am overly exhausted so if I am not, then it would be the movie for me.

After watching that movie, I would love to go out and stretch my legs. Maybe walk around my compound while playing music, stroll out within the estate with the excuse of going to get something, then return home to put the place in order.

If I don't start my job in the morning, it may be difficult to get any of it done in the middle of the day, especially if I have to go to school, or if I have to be somewhere else. When I return in the evening I am exhausted as well and most of the time when I come back late like that, I have to come and make dinner. By the time I'm done preparing and eating, I would be too heavy to be creative.

So instead of doing my chores immediately after I wake up, I prefer to get it done in the middle of the day to stimulate me when I am feeling lazy or sleepy without having anything tangible done.

In putting my house in order, I would have to do the dishes, sweep the floor and probably get to mop it as well depending on how dirty it looks, dress the bed for the umpteenth time, clean the cobwebs, and wash the toilet.

When I am done, I would like to retire to bed again and take a nap if I hadn't taken one earlier but if I have, I would see a movie then.

My perfect day would not be complete without one of my special meals so when I wake up or finish seeing a movie as the case may be, I would love to have one of my favorite dishes; Amala and ewedu soup with lots of meat or pounded yam and chicken white soup, or better still, a well-decked hamburger with a mouth-watering cup of ice cream.

Whatever I’m having would definitely be accompanied by a Netflix movie or cartoon and when I am done, I would go through my messages on social media to see if there's any important information concerning school or if someone important has reached out to me.

I may indulge on Instagram or Twitter a little, reading funny posts like memes and watching trending videos or reading up on the latest news updates, then I would return my glasses to my face and return to my miniature workspace to get some work done for the night.

I would then retire from work when my boyfriend either calls me for a Tete a Tete or when my eyelids get too heavy to keep open. I would prefer to speak to him first before I go to bed, he also has a way of making my day perfect most times.

In summary for me to have a perfect day, there must be light all through or for most of the day so I can get a lot of work done (I get satisfaction from getting a lot of writing done in one day, whether it's my personal novel or it's one for a client), I must have one of my favorite meals, and I must not go to school because when there is no light, I would hardly get any work done and when I go to school, I get too tired to get as much work done as I should.
