Three Recommended Choices of Korean Drama for Beginners Like Me
Hello everyone
How are you friends? I hope and pray that friends, especially all members of this community, are always in good health and also in living this life. This time, I want to re-participate in the Movies & TV Shows Community to recommend Korean dramas to friends who want to try watching Korean dramas for the first time in your life. Here are three Korean dramas that I can recommend for beginners.
Replay 1988

Replay 1988
Replay 1988 is the first Korean drama I watched. At that time, early 2022, I asked my wife what Korean drama I should watch to get started and get to know about Korean drama and Replay 1988 became the drama she recommended. I think, Replay 1988 will be my first recommendation, if friends want to start trying to watch Korean dramas.
Replay 1988 is a unique and interesting drama. Replay 1988 is a family drama genre that tells about the friendship of five people who live next door to South Korea in 1988. The story is even more interesting, because their families also interact with each other. This drama has all the elements of a very complex story, humor, sad or happy moments are all in this drama. All the characters in this drama were created not in vain, all of them have stories to discuss and also the audience will have their favorite characters in this drama.
One of the strengths of this drama is that we really relate to the story of this drama. For many people, including myself, Replay 1988 seemed too real for a spectacle, especially for Asian people like me who have a very similar culture. Where I live, the sense of kinship and care between neighbors is very high, just like the story shown in this drama. The story is simple and relates to life, breaking people's stigma about Korean dramas that only have love stories and are like cliché stories between princes and ordinary women (believe me, there are lots of premise of such dramas).
This drama was released in 2015-2016 but can be watched repeatedly without getting bored. Often times, Replay 1988 is trending on Twitter, especially when it comes to the best Korean drama of all time. You can watch it on Netflix until October 1, 2022. But, you have to prepare a strong heart at the end, because I feel post-after drama syndorm after finishing all episodes of Replay 1988.
Our Beloved Summer

Our Beloved Summer
The second beginner Korean drama recommendation from me is the romantic genre drama. I recommend you to try watching Our beloved Summer as a Korean drama that you will choose to start trying to enjoy Korean drama. Our Beloved Summer is one of many people's favorite Korean dramas and I think it is very suitable for beginners to watch or those who want to start trying to watch K-Drama.
Our Beloved Summer is played by Choi Woo Shik (as Choi Woong) and also Kim Da-Mi (as Kook Yeon-Soo). The premise of Our Beloved Summer is very simple but very interesting to watch. This drama is about the love story of two couples who are complicated, problematic and adorable. Choi Woong and Kook Yeon-soo were in a relationship since their school days, but the two broke up after a big fight.
After breaking up, the two decided to lose contact and never see each other again. However, fate said otherwise, the two of them met again and brought back the good memories of the past. The story is indeed very simple but executed by two brilliant young Korean actors, I'm sure you will be carried away to watch it.
I also don't know why this drama is so fun to watch, do you think? the story is very simple with an ending that we can probably guess at the beginning of the episode. However, I never once accelerated this drama while watching it. I enjoyed every minute and every episode. Very warm and fun to watch.
My Name

I've recommended one family drama and one romance drama. For my third recommended Korean drama, I will recommend a different genre. I would like to recommend My Name for you to choose if you like thriller and action dramas as your favorite genre.
My Name is a Korean drama produced in 2021. My Name tells the story of Yoon Ji Woo played by Han So Hee (my favorite Korean actress) who joins a drug mafia syndicate after accepting the harsh reality when her father died in front of her eyes on her birthday. 17. Yoon Ji Woo is created by a new identity by the mob boss, and becomes a cop (as a drug syndicate spy) while trying to avenge his father's death.
The premise of this drama has often been seen in various movies or dramas. However, if executed with a good storyline, quality acting and appropriate action scenes like My Name will be a very interesting and entertaining spectacle. Moreover, the fight scenes are also quite "brutal" and some plot twists make us more curious in each episode. One that is also important, this drama is only 8 episodes and maybe you can marathon watch it only one day on your weekend.
Okay, maybe those are three dramas that I can recommend to friends who want to try watching Korean dramas. Do friends who like watching Korean dramas also have other recommendations? write in the comments

1988 is the best drama that I ever watched. I regret that I currently watched after 6 years.. hohoho
this drama can also be watched over and over again, for some reason it's like but I really enjoy it
I love Beloved Summer and stay away from thrillers, but I'm in need of a good Kdrama and have never seen 1988. Thanks for recommending it!
