Remember When HIVE was STEEM and STEEM was HIVE?

The community that was thriving on the STEEM blockchain followed the HIVE fork and continues to thrive here. Some people don't like mentioning STEEM, treating it like some dark history that must be forgotten, but the reality is that the old STEEM community is the current HIVE community. Some continue posting on both, which I have no problem with.

In 2017, a sivler token was commissioned for the STEEM community which could be purchased using STEEM. The obverse featured the iconic STEEM logo, with the words "FINE SILVER 1OZ ARGENT PUR". It's written in english and french, since that's what they do in Canada where it was minted.

My favorite part of the token is the depiction on the reverse. Featuring the various aquatic animal from many red fish and minnows all the way to a few dolphins, an orca and a whale - all swimming around a proof STEEM logo with the word "community" written in several languages.

It is one of the most handsome coins in my collection and it recalls many fond memories.

This became a part of a series of STEEM silver rounds, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Hello there Ironshield, Thanks for this update. First time hearing about it despite being on STEEM. I have abandoned that platform by the way.

Yes most people on HIVE do not post on Steemit anymore. Really, what was great about steemit back in the day, is here on hive right now, so it lives on. Steem is an empty shell these days.

Shockingly I have one of these myself. Its a little disappointing there's no hive variation of this.

There have been some HIVE tokens made, but not quite to this level.

Oh yeah, I remember that. I think we'll see HIVE there again (even higher) in the coming months and years. (just my opinion)

back in the steem days I was expecting $100 or $1000 steem, it never happened... haha... Hive to the moon? Why not... well I think RH related products are dominating the space so hard now. Hive could go to $10 but beyond that in the next few years? I dont think so, that being said these markets are hard to predict like that.

That's for sure, I think it was 20 steem per round.

I never knew steem also had a coin. Perhaps hive might have a currency coin in the future
