New year, new goals?

The new year is already on its 13th day, so it is about time to set some goals. Partly to make sure that I focus my attention in the right places, but also the motivate myself to create content.

Focus is really the key word here, because I used to have 10 goals or so. Some years even more. But I want to do that differently this year.

I still want to grow my investment portfolio value, but I want my efforts for a goal to make a significant impact. I don’t want to work a year for a token or project that brings me 65% returns on $5 , because that doesn’t change my life at all.

Instead I want to invest a significant amount into goals that will actually make a difference if they go 10x or better.

Splinterlands

After most of my cards and converting them into hbd, which sits in savings earning 20% rent, I’m actually investing in splinterlands again.

With cards prices this low and the upcoming changes I see an opportunity on the horizon that could cause another 10x increase in the value of my assets.

I think we’re at the bottom for splinterlands. People have sold their assets in droves for very low prices, taking major losses, which is what usually happens in a free market just before things get better.

My goal is to get a maxed bronze level deck.

Besides that I want to build a rental income. I think the splinterlands team will be able to get Dec back to its peg of 1000 Dec per $1 USD. I want to try to reach an average of $1 per day in rental income. So that is $15 per season.

This will require extra investment which I hope to fund by taking profits from some of my other investments.

A new bull market would help a lot

Ragnarok

A game still in development, but with a huge potential is Ragnarok. As development takes a lot of time and the airdrop was almost a year ago, the DUAT token is very cheap to get.

This might change when beta testing starts.

Currently I have about 5800 duat tokens and I would like to get 15k, which I hope to get from the price increase of some of my splinterlands assets.

Index

Index is a cheap dividends token that represents an index of the most important hive-engine tokens. I already have 100 of them, so now I would like to build that to 250.

Risingstar

Risingstar is not as profitable as it used to be, but it is still a free to play game that requires little time and gives me an income, so I’ll continue to grow my account.

I’m not adding funds to it, but I should be able to unlock the 4th region this year. I’m currently still working to get to level 100, but in the meantime I’m making some income from the game.

Hive

I’m going to continue creating content and grow my hive power. However I’m currently powering down hive to invest in splinterlands.

Just like last year I’ll try to get to 1500 hive power.

HBD

Tomorrow my HBD savings will compound you 1059 HBD and I will not touch this HBD anymore. I’m planning to let this compound the next 16 years in order to have enough money to let my sim go to college/university without taking a loan.

I’m going to continue to stack more HBD along the way, so my goal for this year is 1400 HBD in savings.

The only time I’m going to take out HBD is when the witnesses would lower the interest rate dramatically

Holdings that compound

I have 65 BRO that slowly grows, while giving good dividends and some curation on my posts.

I also get LGN (legion) tokens for my BRO holdings, which in turn also will generate yield and grow.

CARTEL is another token that I will just hold, because it gives me exposure to tons of games on the blockchain, without me having to play those games.

Because of cartel, I get woo airdrops, which I stake. Along with some rewards for my hive power

LEO

I’ll continue staking Leo, but if there’s a pump, then I will be taking profits for sure. I’m delegating to @leo.voter to get that sweet almost 16% apr.

conclusion

In q1 I’ll be focusing on splinterlands. There’s a lot happening with the new soulbound rewards, chaos legion selling out, land finally coming, tower defense beta opening up very soon and player staking coming up.

I’m hoping that this will bring the influx of new players that will create a new bull market for splinterlands, at which point I will certainly take profits, without selling everything.

Ragnarok is a gamble, but with @theycallmedan involved it could be an absolute winner. So I’m going to invest enough to make a difference if it does indeed become a moonshot.

To the background of that I’ll compound HBD, hive power, BRO, LGN, Index and LEO.
