I’ll Manage, I Think
Today is day 28 of daily writing. According to the internet, it takes 21 days to form a new habit. And I think it is true. During the first week of writing, I forced myself to sit and work on the blog. And now, things aren't that different. I still have to force myself to sit, but I can feel the clarity in my writing and thoughts. I now have a better idea about what to write. And I am very much comfortable changing the topic and starting again. Let's go with today's example. I was working on a Splinterland post, and I even got halfway through, say 300 words in, but there was this small inside voice that kept bothering me a little. Like, the blog isn't good, and I should be writing a post celebrating this win. While it is a win that should be celebrated, I am going to wait for the post to finish and the month to be officially over. Because there is still a tiny chance that this post goes to shadow realms.
Should I talk about the challenges? I think I whined about that enough on my previous blog. What about my experience with daily writing? I think that was evident in that blog, too. This is a strange feeling that I am experiencing for the first time. I know I can write about the topics that are going though my mind, but at the same time I dont want to write about those. It is like I am doing window shopping. I am picking up topics, checking them and putting them back on the shelf. And the most fascinating thing about that is today, I am not stressing out. In fact, I am excited to know that these many options are available and I can always switch. If a gameplay post isn't working, I can switch to a general post, and if that isn't working, I can switch to something else, like a movie review or something. It is going to take effort to put the post out, but I think I am going to be ok with it. The definition of a quality post is clear to me. I think if I am happy with my post and if it's within the boundary set by the community, I think that's good enough to be shared.
What's next? I think I am going to continue this streak. And try to up this a notch, too. I am going to attach a fitness goal to this next month. I am not going all out, but this is just to make my body a little stronger. I have been sick a lot lately. I was thinking, why not add a couple of pushups, crunches and steps to the daily target and see how that goes? Nothing crazy like the Saitama workout regime, but something very small and doable. I haven't even finalised it yet. I am just formulating it. It can be anything, maybe tweaking my diet a bit, adding more fiber or water.
Hey Folks,
Well, look at that, I completed the challenge. Everyone says "start small", and I think I did start small this year. I started with the Daily Powerup challenge, and now I am on the writing. It is still too early to declare the result of the experiment, but I am betting on a positive outcome. See ya soon, take care.
I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my friends from the IndiaUnited and BeAwesome communities. A big hug for them. And just now, I got the idea for tomorrow's post. Let it be a gratitude post for the things I am grateful for.
