Issues of cultism in Nigeria: A Case of Cult Clashes in Ogun State of Nigeria
An increasing rate of Cultists clashes in Nigeria has become so alarming which leads to sudden killing of both innocent people and the cults members in most cases.
Many lives have been terminated over cultist clashes. It's very sad that young youths has lure themselves into cultism over the years. I'm yet to discover the benefits of cultist but in m painstaking studies I've come to discover that there's no so tangible or good about cultism rather than misbehaving and causing society disorder, become nuisance in the society and a school dropout when discovered in higher institutions of learning.
Over some years now Nigeria has been battling with the issues of cultism among Nigerian youths due to in cultist clashes in different parts of the country. The recent cultist clash occurs in Ogun State of Nigeria which leads to the killing of two persons.
On Saturday 20th May 2022, Two cultist group get involved in a clash in Mowe-Ofada area of Ogun state, two persons were discovered dead over the incident.
persons have been killed as cultists groups clashed in the Mowe-Ofada area of Ogun state. The fight which claimed two persons on Friday morning, was a terrible and bloody when the cult groups launched a reprisal on each other.
The fear of cultist activities in the Obafemi Local Government community over the recent killing has cause many traders in the area to close down their business premises as the cult boys already gotten over the area with matchet and guns. The fear became severe especially at night because the cultist activities frequently took place during the evening approaching night time. The second victim was killed at night.
Yet another total of sixteen (16) lives have been destroyed over the spate of cult clashes in communities in Ogun State. One of the most known cult boy in Ogun State known as Tommy and six others cult boys was hacked to death in one of the popular Panseke market in Abeokuta, the state capital over the cult clash between the Eiye and Aiye cult groups to lead bloody killing in the state.

In 2021, Over One thousand, five hundred and twenty-five (1,525) persons have been killed over cultist clashes in Nigeria.
This has instilled fear the nation over rising number of killings. The total of 1,525-death figure is uncalled for. Nigeria is also facing many aspect of insecurity and killings raising from the Boko Haram insurgency, banditry, herdsmen crisis, kidnapping, communal and cult clashes, armed robbery, and brutality of security agents among others.
