Self-care strategies.

I'll be talking about self- care strategies. Self care can be seen as the practice of one taking measures or actions in improving or protecting one's own health and well being.
Then self-care strategies are tools which help in assisting the ability of individuals, families and communities to contribute to health, prevent disease, maintain health, and cope with illness with or without the support of a health worker.

I'll be writing on some of these strategies.
Create a routine: In your daily schedule of activities, do well to include self activities within your daily schedule. Routines like exercise, engaging in the ones you mostly enjoy. I'll advise you start with jogging first, then maybe add yoga or cycling.

Eat healthy foods, take more of fruits, drink water regularly, eat a balanced diet and be careful of what you choose to eat.

Try to pamper yourself sometimes. Try a skin care routine, go to the spa, take a relaxing bath, manicure and pedicure or better still get a massage.

It's also important to get a diary or journal to be able to write all your feelings and maybe experiences for the day. It gives you a kind of relief. Practice to exercise your mind or meditate to relieve your mind . This helps for mental clearness. Always try to stay active.

Set your boundaries. Create a clear guideline on how you want to be treated. Just let others know what you like and what you will not accept. This action makes you feel respected and it also protects your energy. Just learn to say 'NO' to some certain things.

Learn to pray too or engage in practice of the spirituality and belief you identify with. Just pour out your heart.

Read a lot of books. Not only books, articles or any form of contents that may teach you something impactful or new. It's helps your intellectual development.

Try also to do something creative. If you can't, you can learn. By watching DIY videos maybe from the internet or take up skill acquisition classes to help you. Things like painting, even writing, sowing, drawing, cooking and crafting.

Watch movies and listen to music. Music that helps emotionally or calms the mind. Movies that are captivating and might shift your mind from certain things.

Don't hesitate to seek help from other people. You can't get it all by yourself. You need help from others. It can be from your friends, loved ones and family or maybe from a professional.You just need someone to support you. And be good and kind to yourself. For the little achievement you've made, be proud of yourself. Celebrate your little wins. Don't beat yourself up if things don't go as planned.

Lastly, take breaks from social media. Just take a break from looking at those screens and if possible try to take a break from work too, to rest.

Self-care is a personal journey. Start small, be intentional and consistent in maintaining these practices. I hope this helps you.

Wow, this is interesting most times people work and forget to take care of themselves which can be very bad.

Yes they do but forget that all work every time might end up affecting their health in all ways.
