Hay,
Today I will talk about rivers in Bangladesh. I will also share many pictures of the river.
Bangladesh is a riverine country. The river is associated with the life, livelihood, happiness, sorrow, passion and love of the people of this country. The irrigation system of our agricultural Bangladesh is mostly dependent on rivers.
Due to the traffic congestion, people's lives have come to a standstill.
We may have a special attraction towards rivers because we were born in riverine Bengal. River water, air is one of our favorites. Some write songs like poets, some write poems, some make stills.
The chars awakened in the bosom of Meghna, the silver colored water and the silence of the chars will take you to another world. In this monsoon, you can see the amazing beauty of the river Meghna and the varied sunset! In the afternoon, Mast will come sitting on the roof of the trawler and enjoying the beauty around the river.
The proverb "Bengali in fish and rice" seems to have merged with our blood since the Vedic age. Why not mix! Being a riverine country, easy availability of paddy and fish is one of the reasons.
There is no end to our festival with fish. For whatever reason, fishing is deeply ingrained in our habits. And for this fishing 'Polo Bawa Utsav' is a part of the tradition of rural Bengal.
This festival was celebrated at least once in a year. The people of Beel or Haor used to celebrate this festival. A week before the festival, everyone in the village was informed about the date of the festival. Then on a certain day, fishing with this "polo bawa" was going on all day with great pomp.
If you have the time and opportunity, you can come back from any one of the "Polo Bawa festivals" in the haor areas of the country. It is usually held in winter in Brahmanbaria.
In addition to humans, rivers play an important role in conserving biodiversity. The river is home to many animals and plants. As the river loses its beauty, the habitat of these animals and plants is becoming extinct. In addition, rivers play an important role in maintaining the balance of the environment.
Riverine country, where there are numerous small and big rivers scattered like a net. Rivers are a small but very important means of communication. Now the first thing that comes to mind is the launch (although there are some ships besides boats, trawlers, ferries). ‘Launch’ is deeply involved in Bengali life.
Lastly, we must protect the river. The beauty of the river is getting lost regularly. River water is polluted. Rivers are flooding, water is in crisis, and floods are occurring in the rainy season. All things considered, we have no alternative to the river. So everyone will come forward to protect the river. Although it is a photographic post, I shared a lot about the river.

i loved that you shared a lot about the river, it should be like this. If we have the possibility to raise awareness, we must do it. Rivers are vital to preserve species, supply us with food, water, it keep us connected, it is important to keep it healthy and clean.
The river is a chain of the environment. Water, fish, travel, ecology are controlled in this chain. As such, people still do not understand its importance. An organization is working regularly to protect the river in Bangladesh.
they should do, we have only one life, but once we leave, future generations remain here, they could be our children or future grandchildren. All lives matter, not just human lives. I have this belief that the animals have lent us these lands, so we must take care of them, first they existed, then us.
Yes I agree with you, every single life matters. The responsibility of our world is our own. You spent important time reading this post. Thank you.
