A market I recommend in Milan!!
Hello everyone!
Christmas is almost here, but I’m not sure if I mentioned it before in the other articles I’ve shared here, but I’m a huge fan of antique markets, or any kind of market related to vintage items. I’ve always had this passion since I was young for searching for objects that, in some cases, might unfortunately be thrown away, but in my opinion, can have a new life.
Today, I’d like to share with you a market I visited last Sunday in Milan. In fact, this market takes place only on the last Sunday of every month, so it’s a great opportunity if you happen to be in Milan to check it out. I have to say, I found many interesting things to buy there.
I often go with my mother because she’s also a big fan. The market stretches along the first stretch of the Naviglio Grande, from Viale Gorizia to the bridge of Via Valenza, offering a path that’s quite long, about a couple of kilometers, overlooking the canal that I’m sure many of you already know. I took some photos of the things you can find at this market just to give you an idea of how varied the items are. And most likely, if I get the chance and remember, I will share other markets I come across that I think are very interesting.
I believe there are more than 400 exhibitors here, and you can find furniture, clocks, porcelain, antique jewelry, dolls, books, glasses, and even items for comic book and print enthusiasts. Another interesting thing is that, unlike some markets I’ve visited, for example in Rome, the items here are very selective and well-curated to ensure the quality of what’s being offered, and above all, that the items are authentic, because unfortunately, I’ve come across some counterfeit items at other markets, like in Turin.
Another tip I can give you is to arrive early because I’ve learned that the best deals in these markets are made if you arrive early, when there are still many things to buy, even though the market closes at 6:30 PM.
I hope this information has been or will be useful to someone. I’ve shared just a few photos I took, and in the end, I bought a painting because I liked it. I can’t really assess its value, but sometimes here you can find items of real value if you know what you’re looking for.
Thanks for reading, see you next time!
