Sigo con mis reseñas de la franquicia completa de Marvel Studios y llegamos hoy al 2014 con Capitán América y el Soldado de Invierno (Me parece increíble que esta película ya vaya para 8 años de haberse estrenado).

En este nuevo capítulo de la saga, tenemos al Capitán América Steve Rogers buscando integrarse a la sociedad moderna, a la vez que combate enemigos relacionados con sus batallas del pasado, en una historia de acción, espías y persecuciones.

Desde que esta película fue estrenada, muchos la han catalogado como "la mejor película del estudio", y si no, al menos como una de las mejores, y es que motivos no faltan pues se trata de una película muy completa, con excelentes escenas de acción, planteamientos interesantes y una historia bien estructurada.

I continue with my reviews of the entire Marvel Studios franchise and today we come to 2014 with Captain America and the Winter Soldier (I find it incredible that this movie is already 8 years old).

In this new chapter of the saga, we have the Captain America Steve Rogers looking to integrate into modern society, while fighting enemies related to his past battles, in a story of action, spies and chases.

Since this movie was released, many have labeled it as "the best movie of the studio", and if not, at least as one of the best, and there is no shortage of reasons because it is a very complete movie, with excellent action scenes, interesting approaches and a well-structured story.

This review may contain Spoilers, as I assume that if you continue reading it is because you have already seen the movie.

Todo lo que buscas en una película de acción

El primer punto que da fuerza a este filme (Y probablemente uno de los más importantes) es la calidad de sus escenas de acción. Por un lado, sus coreografías y sus efectos especiales van de la mano para lograr un gran trabajo en equipo, con escenas de peleas que aprovechan muy bien las características sobrehumanas del Capitán, las técnicas de pelea de la Viuda Negra y la fuerza del Soldado de Invierno, exhaltando estas habilidades para lograr peleas más duras.

Por otro lado, las actuaciones de los protagonistas ayudan mucho a transmitir la tensión del combate, así como la adrenalina de las persecuciones, tal como en la persecución automovilística de Nick Fury, la cual es, a mi parecer, una de las más emocionantes de la película. Adjunto la escena separada en dos videos:

Everything you look for in an action movie.

The first point that gives strength to this film (and probably one of the most important) is the quality of its action scenes. On the one hand, its choreographies and special effects go hand in hand to achieve a great teamwork, with fight scenes that take advantage very well of the superhuman characteristics of Captain, the fighting techniques of Black Widow and the strength of Winter Soldier, exalting these skills to achieve tougher fights.

On the other hand, the performances of the main characters help a lot to transmit the tension of the combat, as well as the adrenaline of the chases, such as in the car chase of Nick Fury, which is, in my opinion, one of the most exciting of the film. SHIELD vemos, HYDRA no sabemos

La trama de Captain America: The Winter Soldier es otro de los puntos que ayudan mucho al filme. El conflicto de HYDRA infiltrado en S.H.I.E.L.D. desde sus orígenes, comprometiendo la seguridad de los protagonistas y a la vez, el destino de todo por lo que han luchado, es una historia que genera interés y más al ser un plot twist coherente de la agencia que venía protagonizando e hilando toda la saga de Marvel hasta este punto.

Incluso elementos tan simples como que algunos de estos infiltrados de HYDRA en S.H.I.E.L.D. o en el gobierno sean personajes previamente utilizados en la franquicia, como en Thor y Iron Man 2, fortalecen la sorpresa y el vínculo entre el espectador y la situación.

Del mismo modo, el control sobre el mundo que busca HYDRA hace de esta organización villana un antagonista aún más interesante que en el pasado, pues en lugar de ser sólo Cráneo Rojo buscando poder y el cliché de "dominar el mundo", se trata de toda una ideología que busca "mantener el orden en el mundo a través de la constante vigilancia".

SHIELD we see, HYDRA we don't know

The plot of Captain America: The Winter Soldier is another point that helps the film a lot. The conflict of HYDRA infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D. from its origins, compromising the safety of the protagonists and at the same time, the fate of everything they have fought for, is a story that generates interest and more so by being a coherent plot twist of the agency that had been starring and spinning the entire Marvel saga up to this point.

Even elements as simple as some of these HYDRA infiltrators in S.H.I.E.L.D. or the government being characters previously used in the franchise, as in Thor and Iron Man 2, strengthen the surprise and the bond between the viewer and the situation.

Similarly, the control over the world sought by HYDRA makes this villainous organization an even more interesting antagonist than in the past, for instead of being just Red Skull seeking power and the cliché of "world domination," it is an entire ideology that seeks to "maintain order in the world through constant surveillance."

Un elenco de calidad

Para protagonizar esta elaborada trama y sus emocionantes escenas de acción, tenemos además un elenco muy bien seleccionado, con carisma, personalidad, y muy buena química entre todos.

La relación entre Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) y Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) cautiva la atención de cualquier espectador, así como individualmente también destacan sus actuaciones. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) obtiene un poco más de protagonismo que en sus anteriores apariciones, permitiéndole demostrar más su faceta de director de esta agencia secreta, a la vez que se enfrenta a la verdad detrás de ésta.

Anthony Mackie aparece en este filme por primera vez interpretando a Sam Wilson (Eventualmente conocido como The Falcon), desarrollando una amistad fluida con Steve Rogers y logrando ganarse el afecto del público.

Robert Redford interpreta al antagonista principal, Alexander Pierce, quien logra representar muy bien los intereses de HYDRA y ser, básicamente, la cara de esta organización.

Finalmente, tenemos a Bucky (Sebastian Stan) en un giro completamente novedoso para su desarrollo como personaje, más oscuro, imponente y con una actuación que lo convierte en un personaje intimidante para el espectador. Al mismo tiempo, éste logra generar un conflicto adicional interesante para la historia.

A quality cast

To star in this elaborate plot and its exciting action scenes, we also have a very well selected cast, with charisma, personality, and very good chemistry between all of them.

The relationship between Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) captivates the attention of any viewer, as well as their individual performances. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) gets a bit more of the spotlight than in his previous appearances, allowing him to show more of his facet as the director of this secret agency, while facing the truth behind it.

Anthony Mackie appears in this film for the first time playing Sam Wilson (eventually known as The Falcon), developing a fluid friendship with Steve Rogers and managing to win the affection of the audience.

Robert Redford plays the main antagonist, Alexander Pierce, who manages to represent the interests of HYDRA very well and be, basically, the face of this organization.

Finally, we have Bucky (Sebastian Stan) in a completely new turn for his development as a character, darker, imposing and with a performance that makes him an intimidating character for the viewer. At the same time, he manages to generate an additional interesting conflict for the story.

Conclusión

En el Universo Cinematográfico de Marvel hay actualmente tantas películas tan diferentes, que se vuelve prácticamente imposible hacer comparaciones justas entre todas ellas, pues cada una resalta por diferentes cosas y busca lograr resultados muy diferentes, por lo que las "favoritas" acaban siendo más bien fruto de los gustos de cada quien. Sin embargo, a mi parecer, se vuelve innegable que Captain America: The Winter Soldier se merece un puesto elevado en cualquier Top de las mejores películas de la franquicia.

Conclusion

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe there are currently so many different movies, that it becomes practically impossible to make fair comparisons between all of them, as each one stands out for different things and seeks to achieve very different results, so the "favorites" end up being rather the result of the tastes of each one. However, in my opinion, it becomes undeniable that Captain America: The Winter Soldier deserves a high position in any Top of the best movies of the franchise.
