A SCARY EXPERIENCE
I guess those that came up with the common adage that says "you never know the value of what you have till you lose it or you are close to losing it" are one hundred percent right
Because only then do you realize how important it is to you
Every day I pray never to be in a type of situation where I get scared of what I could lose again because the last one took a whole lot on me and I never want to have such experience anymore
Experiences like this make us cherish what we have more and to be always thankful
Sometimes last year my dad developed a few illnesses all from him not taking adequate rest and all, and we thought it was a minor thing that could be cured with him just having adequate rest and more time to relax but then it went beyond that and a lot just start surfacing that we had to admit him in a hospital for better treatment
The first week went by and there was no improvement, then come the second week still no improvement rather more tests and treatments is been done
It was a whole lot for my family that we start taking shifts in the hospital just to stay with him and respond to errands from the doctors
He was not responding to treatment, makes the whole family worried and scared, making the probability of losing him high, making the situation a very scary one that put the whole family in disarray
My stay in the hospital with him gave me a different view of life as I saw sick ones, injured ones, broken ones who lost their loved ones, and tired ones who are fed up all because their loved ones have been admitted for too long without getting better
It was a time that I was totally scared of losing my loved one and had a very close experience seeing dead ones
I realize life and death are just a few inches
I saw people admitted and dead the same day, I saw people responding to treatment and still end up dying makes me wonder what would be the case of mine not responding to treatment
Fear grips me each time i walk past the emergency ward every day to get tests results and drugs from the pharmaceutical Center and I hear cry and wailing of families losing loved ones and patients responding to treatment
For the whole month I stayed,I stayed with fear and pity and how I pull through was just by having faith that the one I'm here with will get better
*After one month of admission, he was discharged and back to his feet.
The experience will be ever green, a period in my life I got really scared of what I could lose
Here is a response to @hivearner week 30 about scary experience
Losing a love one is a gap in our lives nothing and no one can ever fill.
I am glad your dad recovered and got back to his fit.
Really sorry for what you went through dear.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Yeah it's always so painful losing loved ones
Thank you for your kind words.
And thank you for dropping by really appreciate
Do you know while reading this I was also scared, but the ending revived me. This is a very critical lesson for us. Let us be mindful of everything that partains our health. No sickness is small, prevention is better than cure. Visiting the hospital is something I am scared of doing on a normal day, I cant stand the sight of seeing people in pains and great agony. Thanks for sharing this with us
Yeah seeing people in great pain and agony was so sad.
We should always be grateful for good health
That is the fact o
Wow... I can't even begin to imagine how that period must have been for you. I'm glad you were able to pull through.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
That saying is so true. I am happy it worked out well for you this time.
I'm so glad to hear that your dad got better! How fleeting life can be is certainly scary!!

In reality @ijohnsen that saying does say that "you never know what you have until you lose it," as the statement about losing what you have as a warning that can be read to take those precautions because of this saying. The second part of that was not in the original saying, that you "almost" lose what you have, or at least not that I have ever heard. That saying was given because it's true, most do not realize what they have if they "almost" lose something, been there and done it myself. When you lose something precious is when you realize you should have taken greater care since you no longer have it.
This is a super awesome post though, and a great reminder about such things. In a nutshell, take care of what you have. Beautiful!
