The wisdom nuggets from the elders.

The words of the elderly are like icing on cakes, every intelligent individual doesn't toy with those words that has been on the marbles of lives note books up from their generations to other many generations without end.

Growing up with my maternal grandparents as a loved first grand child, I had so many opportunities hearing them speak, advice, and direct me and some of my other cousins and many other individuals that came across our house making us have quality lives wrapped up by wisdom.

This has been my launching pad into life and it's unannounced ups and downs situations. It has immensely helped and shaped my path in this vast entity called... Life.

They were very elderly but full of wisdom in every ramifications. My parents and siblings were living in the city while I lived with my grandparents in the village. Both of them contributed a lot to the quality of life I have today. So spending my early life with my grandparents has helped me have focus, directions, good reasoning and being truthful at all times no matter what I might face in life without fear.

They were the first Bible I read, both of them were speaking right and acting right too. You know children learn mostly by the words and actions of parents at home before that of their guidians or teachers at school. Meaning, words we speak and the actions we take has voices. It's from them I got to see the practical aspect of these sayings,....

"the truth shall set you free".

Bible speaking says,

"guard your heart, for our of it are the issues of life"

it says again.....,

" wisdom is the principal thing, in all your gettings, get wisdom ".

Nobody buys wisdom from the market square but by a careful listening, acceptance and obedience attitude towards others that has it you become wiser. Even youths that are endowed with wisdom can also pass words of wisdom to others. People get wiser or wisdom by association.

Everyday's issues of life dwells in our hearts. That's is to say, having a sound mind towards all we do in life is the greatest wisdom of them all. Because our minds are the wisdom well of water that portrays who we really are.

My grandfather was always narrative discussing and ending many topics with Proverbs. Like I said earlier,

"Proverbs are the icing sugar that gives taste and beauty to well made cakes. "

He will always say,

"she that is pounding late night yam in the mortar and is making a loud noise, does she think others slept in an empty stomach?".

Meaning, do not be outrageously loud about whatever success you have made or achieved, others are making progress too without a noise.

I learned a lot from that saying, it has given me a conscious effort of working on genuine activities that will generate benefits no matter how big or small. It has made me know my abilities and limitations on everything and in all aspects of my endeavors. No matter how little, I know that I have been consciously moving forward, making progress. I may not have louded it, but I know I am and am grateful 😂.

This character and knowledge has given me complete peace, not competing with anyone but have kept on improving myself, being resilient, recognizing that others are as well progressing within my circle but are not speaking too loud or showing off,

Rather letting their results speak for them. It's a great lesson and wisdom dwelling in the corridor of humility and gratitude to every success one has made either great or small.

Wisdom is like shrubs, herbs or flowers growing up and beautifying the environment with love and colours.

In conclusion,
wisdom is greatly and importantly needed for people to become great achievers.

This is my response to the thoughtful daily post weekly prompt #5.
