CHOCOLATE CAKE ;MY FIRST BAKING EXPERIENCE
Hello and a beautiful morning to you dear hivers.
Hope you are doing well? This is my first post on Foodies Bee Hive Community
Today I will be sharing with you my first baking experience.
For a very long time, I have always nursed in my heart the desire to learn how to bake especially cakes.
what prompted this desire? My short story suffices:
Actually, during my stay in school from my year two in the university- my breakfast, lunch, dessert and dinner was always cakes complemented with a chilled soft drink like coke(see enjoyment naw) this was not because I had no money though, but I just love eating cakes to the extent that my roommates' then took notice.
Meanwhile, I had always wished I had the opportunity and resources to learn baking. It was about one hundred and twenty thousand for basics (120,000). i did not have such amount of money, I was just and a student and at that time, any money to be used was to pay my school fees and that of my younger siblings. I rested.
Hope alive
Hope sprang up for me when I saw a an advert for a free baking class.

The flier contained details of the venue, date and time for the tutorials.
First day of the baking class
funny enough I took a whole lot of selfies before the class kick-started.
Oh yes, I went early for the venue... I had a lecture that day which was supposed to be two hours but I only attended the lecture for about one hour thirty minutes. I was glad I arrived on time because we were instructed that once it was 10am the gate would be close and all effort to beg will be frutal; I did not want that to be my experience knowing how long I have always desired such a great opportunity.
I also took pictures with other people who came for the training too
My First Time Trying A Chocolate Cake
I was really curious to know how to bake a chocolate cake, holding the baking equipment and having a feel of what chocolate cake tastes like.
How I Learned How To Bake Chocolate Cake
During the baking training, I was taught that before the baking process, our environments should be neat, have your hair covered with a bonnet to prevent it from entering the cake moistures. Also, when baking it is advisable to use right measurements for your cake; do not put or use ingredients based on assumed measurements.
Furthermore, your quantity of ingredients you will use depends on the size and purpose or occasion on which the cake will be used. An example suffice:
Suppose you want to bake a chocolate cake for your personal consumption, the measurements of the ingredients you will use you differs from a chocolate cake you want to bake for a wedding occasion. This brings me to the next thought of line
On What Occasions Chocolate Cake Is Prepared?
Chocolate cake is a traditional cake. Chocolate cakes can be used on various occasions but not limited to:
- Wedding occasions
- Traditional Marriage Occasions
- Birthday Occasions
- Wedding adversaries
- Convocation
- Matriculation Ceremonies
- For Personal use
- Naming Ceremonies
What I Feel When Preparing Chocolates Cake
As a Psychologist-baker (smiles), there are five basic emotions: feelings of anger, sadness, joy, happiness and disgust. Among the five mentioned, I felt happy and joyous while baking the chocolate cake. Doing what you have passion for is what makes life really meaningful. This was enough reason not to allow me give up during the process of whisking the butter, it was really stressful being my first time though.
Here is a list of ingredients for Chocolate cakes:
- Flour - 300 grams (g)
