Mi entrada al concurso TopFiveFamily Observa Piensa Escribe/ My entry to the TopFiveFamily contest Watch Think Write.

Esta imagen me hace viajar al pasado y recordar momentos vividos, algunos me entristecen y otros me reconfortan, pues de alguna forma es parte de mi historia.

Una casa de madera, modesta y sin energía eléctrica, fue el lugar donde crecí mis primeros 6 años de vida, realmente teníamos pocos lujos y no había equipos electrodomésticos, pero eso sí, fue nuestro primer hogar, cargado de mucho amor familiar. Me estoy refiriendo a los años 1988-1989.

Un paso al desarrollo fue cuando nos mudamos a una nueva casa, por suerte con energía eléctrica. Recuerdo la ilusión de mi madre y la alegría de mi padre cuando nos dio la noticia de haber sido seleccionado como uno de los trabajadores más destacados de su centro de trabajo, por lo que sería estimulado con la venta de un Televisor Caribe, un modelo en blanco y negro, pero que era el último grito de la moda en mi comunidad. Fue así como llegó a nuestro hogar el primer electrodoméstico y el mayor entretenimiento de todos.

A wooden house, modest and without electricity, was the place where I grew up my first 6 years of life, we really had few luxuries and no electrical appliances, but yes, it was our first home, full of much family love. I am referring to the years 1988-1989.

A step in the development was when we moved to a new house, fortunately with electric power. I remember my mother's illusion and my father's joy when he gave us the news of having been selected as one of the most outstanding workers in his workplace, for which he would be stimulated with the sale of a Caribe TV, a black and white model, but which was the latest fashion in my community. That was how the first household appliance and the greatest entertainment of all came to our home.

Para nosotros fue una noticia más importante, mis hermanas y yo pasamos días de espera, ansiosos por la llegada del majestuoso aparato. Aunque yo era pequeño y hace muchos años de este suceso, recuerdo algunas imágenes de la entrada triunfante de mi padre con nuestro televisor en brazos y como fue de esperarse, lo ubicamos en el mejor lugar de la casa, para que fuera del disfrute de todos.

¡Cuánto lo disfrutamos! En aquellos años, lo que más veíamos los niños cubanos eran los muñequitos rusos (dibujos animados), de todos tipos y formas. Recordar este televisor me hace revivir las historias de Los tres de Leche Cortada, las aventuras de Tío Fiodor y ni hablemos del El Cartero Fogón y otros que no me atrevo a mencionar el nombre.

For us it was more important news, my sisters and I spent days waiting, anxious for the arrival of the majestic device. Although I was small and many years ago of this event, I remember some images of my father's triumphant entrance with our TV in his arms and as expected, we placed it in the best place in the house, so that everyone could enjoy it.

How much we enjoyed it! In those years, what we Cuban children most watched were Russian dolls (cartoons), of all kinds and shapes. Remembering this TV set makes me relive the stories of Los tres de Leche Cortada, the adventures of Tío Fiodor and not to mention El Cartero Fogón and others that I dare not mention by name.

Durante muchos años este fue el electrodoméstico más importante de la familia, pues nos dio muchas alegrías, con la posibilidad de disfrutar de las lindas caricaturas, aventuras, novelas, películas y otros espacios televisivos que nunca habíamos vivido. Para mí fue el mayor tesoro.

Agradezco infinitamente a los autores del Concurso TopFiveFamily Observa Piensa Escribe, por la oportunidad de volver al pasado y recordar el significado que tuvo mi primera televisión. For many years this was the most important appliance in the family, because it gave us many joys, with the possibility of enjoying the beautiful cartoons, adventures, soap operas, movies and other television programs that we had never experienced before. For me it was the greatest treasure.
