Alive & Thriving Chooseday Thoughts : Finding My Ikigai || AATYr5 || Prompt A Day 😊

I managed to have a restful sleep last night. Thankfully, I woke up feeling recharged. Since it's a quieter day at work, I'm more in my element during the day. I managed an after work nap that turned out strange as I was in a vivid dream full of adventures. It was a little tough to wake up from my nap too. If it were a weekend, I would have allowed myself to sleep some more, but I needed to rouse myself out of the daze and slowly wake up. I carefully did it slowly as I wouldn't want to leave a part of me in a dream state. 😂

After a full week of journaling, I came by another section of my journal that talks about tracking one's true north. After reading it in details, I realized it's a concept I happened upon quite a while back -- ikigai (Google's definition: Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means "reason to live". It's a philosophy that encourages people to find what they're passionate about and what they're good at, and to live a life that's fulfilling and joyful.) If you're familiar with the concept, it comes with a Venn diagram that shows the point where four elements overlap: passion, mission, vocation, profession. From my vantage point, I'd say this ikigai is what keeps us going, even if the going gets tough or rough. There's a sense of purpose and meaning why we do what we do. I don't think I'm quite there yet when it comes to zeroing in on my true north, but I do have an idea of what I wish my life would be. Given the limited circumstances, I know that I strive every day to get closer to where I want to be. I'm a work in progress. I hope I'll have enough time to get there. 🙏❤️💡

This is definitely related to finding my true north. I did say I'm a work in progress, so each day that I'm #aliveandthriving, I make it a point to get closer to a goal or dream that I have set. If I get overwhelmed looking at the big picture, I try and focus on mini victories each day. Breaking down a huge goal into smaller action steps makes it less overwhelming for me. I guess the important thing is I keep dreaming and I keep moving forward to another goal.

Wow, it's almost midmonth now. Amazing how each day just passes us by. I do celebrate mini victories like making a smoothie out of the fruits I got for Christmas. What can I say, I prefer drinking my fruits. 😅

I actively work on these affiliate sites daily. I'm almost halfway to reaching $7 on LL. For the meantime, I keep busy online and offline.
