A different way to spend the weekend [ENG] /Una manera distinta de pasar el fin de semana [ESP]

There are different ways to spend a weekend.

If you live in a big city the most practical and usual method is to go shopping, shopping to use a current term, in any of the large shopping malls that are always within reach. Or go to a park to stretch out on the grass, cradled by the sun if the day allows it.

If we live near a beach, what better time to take advantage of the fact that most tourists have left to resume their usual life than to take a walk along the beach or take advantage of the temperature of the sea water to take a dip if the weather permits, perhaps the last one of the year.
In my case, none of these possibilities offers me the chance to spend a WEEKEND in total tranquility.

I live in an agricultural-livestock area, or rather in a town located in the so-called Pampean plain, an area dedicated to agriculture and livestock par excellence.

Therefore we decided with my wife to take a long walk taking advantage of a very little traveled stretch of road that leads to a dirt road (still exist) that leads to another locality.

Every now and then you can see a dusty dust in the distance: a sign that a pickup or a truck is coming at full speed, transporting cattle or grain from one factory to another.

Huge and centenary eucalyptus plants are marking our route and a blue sky in its entirety without any cloud seems to look at us from above in all its splendor. The day is magnificent.

In the distance we can see the silhouette of a large industrial establishment: it is the slaughterhouse that slaughters beef for consumption and export. Argentine beef is highly appreciated all over the world.

Huge sheds are used to store the bales of grass, which are obtained by cutting the green grass and then rolling it with special machines to make a kind of giant cylinder.

Lugeo are sold in the winter season when green grass is scarce to feed the animals. They are left in the middle of the field and the animals gradually eat them until they are finished.

The plants that look green to yellowish in color are soybean plants, a crop with which Argentina became between 2000 and 2010 the world's leading producer and the main buyer was China.

Then other countries began to produce and compete, even in the Amazon thousands of virgin hectares are being cleared for soybean cultivation, with agrochemicals to promote its growth and so many other things that are not good for health of course. It is the famous monoculture.

For some years the mills had disappeared but little by little they have reappeared with the boom in the exploitation of livestock in the last decade.
It is a quiet walk to enjoy the landscape of the vastness of the plains, the famous Argentine pampas. With a sky so blue that dazzles our pupils.

Hay distintas formas de pasar un fin de semana.

Si se vive en una gran ciudad el método más práctico y más usual es ir de compras, a hacer shopping para usar un término de actualidad, en cualesquiera de los grandes centros comerciales que siempre encontramos al alcance de la mano. O ir a un parque a extendernos en la hierba acunados del sol si el dia lo permite.

Si vivimos cerca de una playa que mejor momento aprovechar que la mayoría de los turistas se ha ido para retomar su vida habitual que hacer una caminata por la playa o aprovechar la temperatura del agua del mar para hacer una zambullida si el tiempo lo permite, tal vez la última del año.

En mi caso no es ninguna de estas posibilidades la que me ofrece pasar un FIN DE SEMANA en total tranquilidad.

Vivo en una zona agrícolo-ganadera, o mejor ducho en un pueblo que se encuentra dentro de la llamada llanura pampeana, zona dedicada a la agricultura y a la ganadería por excelencia.

Por lo tanto hemos decidido con mi esposa hacer una larga caminata aprovechando un tramo de ruta muy poco transitado que conduce a una calle de tierra (todavía existen) que conduce a otra localidad.

De vez en cuando se ve una polvareda a lo lejos: señal que está llegando a toda velocidad una pickup o un camión transportando ganado o cereales de una factoria a otra.

Enormes y centenarias plantas de eucaliptus van marcando nuestro recorrido y un ciel azul en su totlidad sin ninguna nube parec mirarnos desde arriba en todo su esplendor. El día es magnífico.

A lo lejos se dibuja la silueta de un gran establecimiento industrial: se trata del frigorífico que faena la carne vacuna destinada al consumo y a la exportación. Las carnes argentinas son muy apreciadas en todo el mundo.

Enormes galpones son destinados a la conservación de los fardos de pastos que se obtienen cortando el pasto verde y luego enrollándolo con máquinas especiales hasta hacer una especie de cilindro gigante.

Lugeo se venden en la época de invierno cuando escasea el pasto verde para que se alimenten los animales. Se dejan en medio del campio y los animales de a poco van comiendo de él hasta terminarlo.

Las plantas que se ven de un color entre verde y amarillento son plantas de soja, un cultivo con el que Argentina llegó a ser entre el 2000 y el 2010 el principal productor mundial y el principal comprador era China.

Luego otros países comenzaron a producer y hacer competencia, incluso en el Amazonas se están desboscando miles de hectáreas vírgenes para destinarlas al cultivo de soja, con agroquímicos para favorecer su crecimiento y tantas otras cosas que a la salud bien no le hacen por supuesto. Es el famoso monocultivo.

Durante algunos años los molinos habían desaparecido pero de a poco han vuelto a aparecer con el auge por la explotación de la ganadería en esta última década.

Es una caminata tranquila para gozarnos del paisaje de la inmensidad de la llanura, de las famosas pampas argentinas. Con un cielo tan azul que encandila nuestras pupilas.
